Mapping Miva custom field for order comments

We have a custom order field for customers to make comments.  Cannot figure out how map it so that it comes in with imported orders and winds up in the comments section.  Formerly we were using the Addendum module but we needed to switch for other considerations.  The system parameters seem like they allow for product or customer custom fields but not for custom order fields.  Thanks.

Hey Barry,

We use a similar Custom Order Field. Yes, it's a bit wonky to get these to work.

If you go to Settings > Data Functions > Setup Custom Fields > Text Fields

Set the dropdown to "Orders"

In the "Display as" field, that name should match the name of the field that you are passing. "Display Type" I believe is how it displays in SEOM.

Cale, thank you for your suggestion.  I read the documentation in the Knowledge Base but the section on importing custom fields has not been updated since 2008, before Miva itself had built in custom fields.  The instructions state "These are the only modules, which are supported by the Order Manager" and it lists a few mostly obsolete modules.  I am told the Addendum itself will phase out as it already does not play well with some payment methods.  I was hoping your solution would work but unfortunately it did not seem to do so.  Nonetheless greatly appreciate the response and consideration.  Still looking to make this work.

My Order Custom Field is still working... but to be honest, I don't remember how I set it up, since it was so long ago. Wish I could be more helpful.

Cale if you're sure it is a Miva built in custom field separate from the Addendum I will keep at it. If you remember please let me know.  If I get it to work I will post here.  Thanks.
