I am trying to figure out what permissions need to be set for the Fill Backorders feature.  I have tried the Settings Menu > Inventory Functions > Fill Backorders, but am still getting the message that the user is not authorized.  They are assigned to a group that has this feature enabled.  We have this feature set-up as a Quick Click if that makes a difference.

On a different note, the tag requirement for posting is pretty restrictive.

Try looking in the Security settings.

Yes, should have been clearer.  I tried the Security Setting: Settings Menu > Inventory Functions > Fill Backorders.  This didn’t work.  I’m wondering if there is another security setting that is required.

Hi Paul,

Did you go to "Security Options" > "Group Permissions"

Then select the Group you want to grant permission to "Fill - backorders"

Object Type: Select Form Control

Then in "Select Form" select "View Orders"

Then in "Select Button or Option" select "Fill - backorders"

Then assign a permission.

It can also be assigned by assigning the whole "Form" to a group.

It can be a bit daunting to figure out if it's not automatically assigned to a Group.

I may be missing something above since it's been a while since I've set up Security Permissions, but this should point you in the right direction.

The user will not be doing it from the View Orders screen and will not have access to this form.  They are going directly to the Fill Backorders function from Quick Clicks, which fills all open backorders, not just those for a specific order.   The permission for their group is currently set from:

Form:  Settings Menu

Select Button or Option:  [Inventory Functions] Fill Backorders

I’ll try adding the View Orders Fill Backorders option without granting access to the form itself.  I’ll let you know if this works.

Well, that didn’t work either.  If I give access to the View Orders form and the Fill Backorders button within, it will work from the view orders form for a particular order.  But, it will not work from the Settings menu (or the Quick Click button that runs that function).  In fact, I cannot seem to truly grant access to Settings for our new user group.  Although they appear to be set in the Security settings forms, when viewing the Object Permissions, the group doesn’t show the permission.  Screen shots below.
