Stone Edge 8.017 Upgrade warning

I saw that Stone Edge released SE 8.017 last week and I went out to the gateway to download the new version and saw this message: There is a reported issue in this version with sales tax not being added to orders when filling backorders from the batch Fill Backorders screen when using Order Manager as your Sales Tax System. If this issue will affect you please refrain from upgrading to this version.

Has anyone upgraded yet? I know 8.016 also had issues with Taxes and we were told by Stone Edge to wait for the next version. Does anyone have any additional insight to this issue? We are currently on version 8.014
