Hello!

If you are using Stone Edge with Office 365 with an SQL database, be aware the most recent Microsoft Office updates may cause errors when trying to write to tables.

Follow this guide to turn Microsoft Updates off: How to enable and to disable Microsoft Update - Microsoft Support

If you have already installed the latest version and are getting the errors, you can follow these steps:
  1. Disable Microsoft Office Updates.
  2. Make sure all Microsoft Office products are closed.
  3. Open Command prompt as an administrator.
  4. Type in the following commend lines (hit the [Enter] key after each).
    1. cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun
    2. officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.19822.20086
If you are still having issues reach out to sup...@stoneedge.com

Hello All,
This is Erich from support with an update on this issue.
We have tested the latest release of Microsoft Office 365, released on 4/21/2026. This release has not fixed the previously reported issue. The errors you will get are most likely the 3155 error when trying certain updates to orders or adding tracking.
The version we have confirmed to still work was released on March 18.
If you have Auto Updates on, I would recommend turning them off and following the instructions that Julia has provided at this time.
Those instructions were:

  1. Disable Microsoft Office Updates.
  2. Make sure all Microsoft Office products are closed.
  3. Open Command prompt as an administrator.
  4. Type in the following commend lines (hit the [Enter] key after each).
    1. cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun
    2. officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.19822.20086

If you have issues or would like assistance in rolling back please reach out to Sup...@stoneedge.com.

Thank you,
Erich

We've found if you install version 17 ODBC and use that instead of the out of the box SQL it will fix the error.  Downgrading will work as well, but if you don't want to downgrade you can do this instead.  I'm sure there may be other versions you can use, but this is the one that works for us.

Basically you need to download it from here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/connect/odbc/download-odbc-driver-for-sql-server?view=sql-server-ver17 (Look for version 17 for x64 and install it.  Then replace your current Stone Edge ODBC with this version.

Hard to say what the right move is, downgrade MS Office or upgrade your ODBC.  Either one will work.

Is it correct that it is version 17 for x64 ? All of our office is x32 because stone edge requires it

It's x64 because it's based off of your machine's architecture, not office.

I can also confirm this works.  Even though you are installing the x64 driver, you’ll still add it through 32-bit ODBC (search for Data Sources 32-bit (ODBC) in Windows) using “ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server” as the driver.

Hello All,

The most recent two updates to the 365 office suite have been tested to no longer cause the issues that previous updates did. The version you want to update to is at least Version 2604 Build 16.0.19929.20106; the current release is Version 2604 Build 19929.20136.
The most recent updates list can be found here: Microsoft Office Update Version list by Date

Best,

Erich O.
