A fair warning to anyone arranging custom work with Communique / Alterion / Marketplace reporting. We made arrangements with Tom Martin to produce a custom report and paid for it in July of 2017. Tom did some of the initial work but then stopped responding to calls and emails. The work was never completed and we are unable to get him to respond or propose a solution.  I sent a demand and a legal claim to his office by registered mail, but it was returned as undeliverable. Tom did respond briefly when I let him know that I would alert the community to his practices, but he then again went silent. I have meanwhile noted that there is another post on a similar experience with this company.

Buyer beware

Meanwhile please advise in case anyone has a good mailing address for a demand letter.

Thanks

As these messages keep rolling in, I feel the need to speak up and detail my experiences with Tom Martin / Alterion.

I most recently hired Tom to do a custom report for our team in June. I prepaid the work and detailed exactly what I needed. He delivered the report within a few days. It had a few glitches that we needed to work through. He was very responsive to my needs. He had the project wrapped up within a week. I was happy with his results.

My team has always found Tom to be responsive with their training/education requests for his Communique and Amazon Marketplace Reporting products via both email and phone.

I've used Communique since 2009, and have had Tom work on many projects for me along the way. I've always found him to be of good moral character. He's always done what he's promised.

I support Tom. In close to a decade he hasn't given me any reason not to.

Neil,

Thanks for adding balance. I think it is important.

Our experience was similar to yours until last years project, when I assume he reached a stage that was frustrating or difficult. The problem is that instead of resolving, or advising that he underestimated the scope, he went completely silent. We have reached out on more than a dozen occasions asking for a resolution but have been met with silence. While there is an ugly element to a public airing, that is also balanced against the idea that the community has a right to know.  Of course, we are also looking for a valid mailing address.

We also like communique and think it is a good product. I would just recommend caution in the case of custom work.

Regards

Paul Sheck
