We continue to receive nothing but positive comments about the latest version of Stone Edge.  For those of you who may be reluctant to upgrade I wanted to share feedback from a user who upgraded his entire company the other day.  He was prepared for the worse, but was pleasantly surprised at how smooth and quick it went.

Good Morning John,

Well, we made it.  We are officially now running OM Ver 7.036.  Finished all upgrades late last night and all is going good.  I'm looking over the parameters, settings, and reports now for changes I need to make, but everything else is going good.  I had Ver 7.036 installed on a laptop with copy of data file to test and let the help here learn the new version.  This worked well, all of our custom work done in the last few years ported over with no problems.  Using Barney's AVO screen and that is working good.  Now that we are on ver 7.036 we can begin looking forward to having more custom work done.  Thanks for all your help, thanks for being patient with us as we waited for your good stable version upgrade.  New it was coming, glad you are back.

Thank again,
David

It seems to me that the largest single blocker preventing people from upgrading has been customizations that they have made.  Many of you have modifications built by employees or 3rd parties developers that were poorly deployed.  We've worked with several companies to package up and tweak their modifications in a way that will allow the company to retain their modifications while enabling them to seamlessly upgrade Stone Edge.  If your customizations have paralyzed you, let's talk, we might be able to help.

Hey John,

We've been on 7.036 for a while now. I think we were one of the first to get on and it's been very stable. We really haven't run into any issues. We are also using Barney Stone's AVO [Which everyone should have. If you don't you're missing out!] We updated all of our PC's to Windows 10 and Access 2016 and everything has been incredibly stable. We've been on Stone Edge for 15 years now, so I can remember times that were not so stable. ;-)

Thanks!

Cale

Thanks to David and Cale for mentioning my Advanced View Orders (AVO) add-on for Stone Edge. You can read more about my tools for Stone Edge users on my website at http://www.barneystonesoftware.com/. Or feel free to contact me directly for more information.

And congratulations to John Frazar for getting Stone Edge back on track. Keep up the good work, John!

John,

We are running Stone Edge 7.502  The intent was for PCI compliance when using credit cards on the Stone Edge POS.  We abandoned this and went to credit card terminals on a separate isolated network.  But we still use Stone edge POS.
We also use tokens and USAePay.
Can we upgrade to non PCI version of Stone Edge 7.036?
I believe the only customization's are Barney's AVO and Quick Filter Wizard.

Thanks.

Michael,

Yes you can.  The software will detect the lower version number and not allow you to do the upgrade, however, if you call in to Support we can connect to your PC and override that for you.  We've helped dozens of companies "upgrade" off of 7.1 and 7.5 to 7.036 and none of them have had any issues.

Thanks,

John Frazar
