Hi Matt,

I came across your website after my treasured Nikon D610 camera and lens kit was stolen from my car boot on 16/04/16.
I have paid a subscription fee for your site and check on your site daily to see if any new photos are reported from my camera.

I have couple of queries-

1. I have some pics on my flickr account that are as old as 6 months. However, the only ones being searched by stolencamerafinder are the ones that I opened in browser after installing the chrome plugin. So why aren't the remaining pics being shown, although they are few months old already?

2. I decided to contribute to the cause by installing and running the "Flickr Scraper" utility on my PC 24x7. However, due to the absence of any logs, I can't tell whether its actually working or not. All i can see is "10:52:35 AM : Search started" and nothing after that. Would be helpful to have some info in logs being output.

3. Although i have paid the membership fee for your site, I don't get "Pro" benefits (like viewing URLs of images being searched). I have only paid for the 1st month but assume the Pro rights should remain until the month expires.

4. Can I also search using lens serial numbers? I couldn't find any option on the site.

I really appreciate the efforts you have been putting in through this site and hope that I am able to find my prized camera by some miracle.
Waiting to hear from you.

Cheers,
Raj

Hi Raj,

Thanks for getting a Pro account. Answers below...

1. I have some pics on my flickr account that are as old as 6 months. However, the only ones being searched by stolencamerafinder are the ones that I opened in browser after installing the chrome plugin. So why aren't the remaining pics being shown, although they are few months old already?
Our crawlers are optimised to be wide and shallow. It is better to get a few results from lots of users, that lots of results from a few users.

2. I decided to contribute to the cause by installing and running the "Flickr Scraper" utility on my PC 24x7. Thanks, but actually I've just removed the Flickr Scraper. Due to limitations on the API key, there was a only so fast I could politely crawl Flickr, regardless of how many people ran it. We now use much faster crawlers running on servers we manage.

3. Although i have paid the membership fee for your site, I don't get "Pro" benefits (like viewing URLs of images being searched). I have only paid for the 1st month but assume the Pro rights should remain until the month expires.
You should do, please make sure you are logged in with the account you registered with. Your email address should be in the top right.

4. Can I also search using lens serial numbers? I couldn't find any option on the site.
Assuming you are logged in, visit http://www.stolencamerafinder.com/home?searchType=manual and click "options"

ps, you don't need to run a search every day. Just create a missing camera report and because you are a pro member, we will notify you by email if there are any new sightings.

Cheers,
Matt
