You wrote to me about the planning development proposal for Wilmer Place. So you may wish to see the Early Day Motion that I have put down in Parliament on the matter. I hope to be able to get a proper debate in Parliament soon, on the planning issues raised by the whole Wilmer Place debacle. I will keep you informed of my work on the issue.

Dear Diane Abbott,
Reference: Wilmer Place: Supermarket/Luxury flats development
This is a poor development.
Even the planning committee agree, but they felt that they had to pass it as they couldn't afford the cost of an appeal.
That is NOT democracy.
Now, on the back of a Judicial review, funded by locals in Stoke Newington, the developer is trying to get round the legal process by re-submitting THE SAME PLAN, knowing the council planning office will have to recommend the planning committee pass it once again.
The only way this is going to be resolved, with all the local, ecological and economic aspects being taken into account, is not by a
15 minute presentation to 50% of the planning committee, but to have this called in by the Secretary of State, and reviewed by planning professionals.
This will untie Hackney Councils hands.
This will allow a local voice to be heard, and the issued reviewed properly.
This is what the planning inspectorate is for.
This is what you should be supporting.
This is your job as the MP for Hackney & Stoke Newington
It may be an unlikely proposition, but that's why we need your voice.
Please help us get this called in and given a proper inspection.
Yours sincerely,
Séan Donnellan
