have a non profit organization that wants low budget access to two doors. I would like them on same controller and add feature of pin pad versus fob only. any suggestions on a reliable cost effective set up for this scenario? i have done bigger scale and single door, not sure what would fit well with this criteria. thanks

Yes. Most that are simple are one door. They don't have a need for a system that has bells and whistles. So basically two doors to one controller they can manage themselves fairly easily. I looked at linear but its one door or jump to everything possible. No middle ground. Maybe integrate with the security system which is DSC but again trying to keep cost down as well.

I'll second the Axis A1001. MSRP is around $599 I believe, and will work with most standard hardware (I commonly run them with iClass SE Readers and HES Strikes). The positive of these is that they support OSDP (higher level of security) and they fairly easily cluster together, so for small installations they should handle as much expansion as they'll likely need.

Thank you for the suggestions...i will look at them and compare. I also looked into the Linear emerge essential, any thoughts on this system. Seemed fairly simple set up although i think its priced higher then the Axis.

HIKvision hasn't totally invaded this area yet, but there are some generic Chinese products out there that are ridiculously cheap sold on Amazon and Ebay. We had a neighborhood need for a community pool gate and I was looking for something very cheap. I was curious enough to bring some in just to test and they actually work. and include network management, Caveat I have extensively tested it but not actually installed it yet for a customer.

Software is not elegant, written (I think in VB and uses Microsoft Access database), but it's functional and allows for groups, schedules, individual door permissions, etc. Can use very cheap key fobs, or universal codes, or fob +PIN numbers. (You cannot use PIN's only as of last time I checked).

Thanks John, not sure i want to cheap out on a product quite like that. Even though its for a non-profit I do want confidence and reliability. I will need to add in a buzzer and door switch to unlock the door and that can be done with a relay on most systems. But will add the CDVI to my list of prospects to look at.

Understand, on the buzzer/door switch, you can't beat the Comelit 700M Video Intercom. Put one in Friday, on sale for $199 right now at ADI, includes a door station videophone and a desk console with lock release. Only needs a 2 wire connection from A to B. You can also daisy chain multiple door stations and consoles with the 2 wire bus.

If you go that route, remember to order the Desktop acrylic stands, and if you need the additional console, it's the 700H. (You can't buy another kit with the 700M (master). Only one master per location.

Ill look at that. I was going towards Aiphone. Pricey but very reliable. I want the station to be mobile because i have that feeling their arrangement of desks will change time to time. Linking both doors will be a good option and ill just run the wire back to the access control panel and make connections in one spot. Thanks John

I am trying to see how to control a linear actuator to cycle up and down a set number of times and then stop. I am interested in trying to imitate this setup: -to-control-the-timing-of-a-linear-actuators-motion/

However, in their code they have it going for 300 seconds and then stopping. What I would like to do is have the option to control that 300 seconds and change it by using an analog input such as a keypad.

I am trying to see how to control a linear actuator to cycle up and down a set number of times and then stop. I am interested in trying to imitate this setup: Control Motion Timing Of Linear Actuators - Progressive Automations

Or, you could roll your own. If you have IO bits to spare, the simplest is probably 4 input and 4 output lines, and reading it. Or a 16:1 multiplexer running off four output bits and with a common input. Or . . .

I suggest that WYZE uses the same door lock key pad but a different gateway. The gateway can talk to the door lock key pad, work with WYZE app and just like the door lock gateway, combining with the function of the following garage door remote:

1.Attention: NOT work for remote with dip switches! Works only for Yellow Learn Button of Chamberlain,Liftmaster or Craftsman Garage Door Openers Security+ 2.0 myQ. 2.Attention:Please get close to garage door opener to program remote!...

When someone enters the correct code into the WYZE door lock key pad, this new WYZE gateway should act like a garage door remote, asking the garage door to open and close. The added benefit is that I can change the code of the key pad remotely.

I am running an AirBnb unit for which I can remotely change front door keypad code (the usual WYZE door lock). I have to be physically there to change a dumb garage door keypad, similar to something below:

Product Description Get the added convenience of being able to access and control your Chamberlain, Craftsman of LiftMaster Garage Door Opener without using a remote control or key. The Chamberlain 940EV Keyless Entry offers wireless...

There are many generations of different generations of garage door remote technology. It is not hard to match the latest Security+ 2.0 like the one I showed (only $17 for a pair). It would be hard to be backsword compatible with older generations, like Security+ or dip switch that are still around.

The problem is they keep it a closed ecosystem so no interacting with other devices, no outgoing commands or incoming. That means they need to keep coming up with the different devices. I will love using wyze products with other devices to fill the gaps

I have a switch like you to open but I never close without looking at garage door with my Wyze cam that is located inside garage. I want to make sure if I open garage for someone (like putting a package inside for me), that everyone is out of way before closing door and no one else enters while door is open.

I do have a version of a device like this made be Chamberlain and it works quite well, but I know you guys could do it better. And it would be nice to have it all in one app. At the very least, look into other device integration should the manufacturers allow it.

Now the FCC ID on this is EF4-DNT00089 and the openers operate on 318 MHz using the MegaCode format. All openers I have read indicate that only the last 6 digits of the key being utilized (ex. Key: 00 00 00 00 00 25 25 25).

Very cool. Have you attempted to edit anything outside the last 6 digits just to see if it still works? I wonder if the rest of the code space is usable but they lazily increment the codes instead of randomizing them as proper security practices would dictate. Incrementing is a common flaw in databases that has been exploited.
