U10 Soccer -- Getting ready for the start of the season

Coaches and Managers --

Opening day is April 14. A couple of notes as we get prepared:

* Registration is now closed and new registrants are being put on a
waitlist. At this point the only reason we will pull a player off the
waitlist is if a coach requests it. You can see your roster and team
page by going to www.Korrio.com and logging in using the ID and
password that you used to register your player. If you have questions
about your roster please let me or Kate know.

* If you put in for a practice field, assignments have been posted to
the Stoddert website at http://www.stoddert.com/25/612158.html

* If you need uniforms, there is a self-service form at
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dENTWVRrY21lVG8tUjJnekFBbjdjZGc6MQ

* We will be playing at Tubman, Mann, and Ft. Reno this season. We
will not be playing at North Chevy Chase. I'm still juggling the
numbers but if we need more games we will play them at Meadowbrook
Park in Chevy Chase, MD.

* For the schedule, I need information from you:
1. Our division is divided into three sub-divisions, or flights, to
try and match teams of equal strength and provide a competitive game
every week for every team. If you felt that your games were mostly
competitive last fall, you don't have to do anything, I will keep you
in the same flight. If you felt your games were not competitive and
would like to move up or down a flight, let me know.

2. I have three teams down as double teams that will play two games
per week: Lightning, Buddies and Orange Crush/Sharks. If you are not
one of those teams and have a large roster let me know if you will be
fielding two teams.

3. Depending on the answer to #2, we may have an odd number of teams.
If that is the case one team each week will have the choice of a
double-header or a bye. Please let me know which you would prefer if
you're the odd team.

4. Please let me know of other scheduling requests. If you sent me a
request earlier please resend it.

I expect to have the schedule published around April 7.

Finally, to help monitor competitive balance I will begin tracking the
scores of games this season. As the season approaches I will send
instructions for reporting scores each week.
