The Red Necklace is a young adult historical novel by Sally Gardner, published by Orion in 2007. It is a story of the French Revolution, interwoven with Roma magic. The audiobook is narrated by Tom Hiddleston.
As Yann grows older he successfully adapts to English society but seems to have lost his gift to throw his voice and read minds. He becomes keen to learn about Têtu's telekinetic abilities, known as the 'threads of light'. One day, he meets a Romani family: Talo Cooper, his wife Orlenda, and his grandfather, Tobias. After Orlenda reads his fortune, Tobias successfully teaches Yann how to see and control the threads of light and gives him a magic talisman. Yann also receives news from Cordell that Têtu is alive. At the same time, the body of an old acquaintance of the Marquis is found by the Thames, and Yann suspects Kalliovski after Cordell notices his necklace around the victim's neck. Yann and the Laxton's also learn that Kalliovski intends on making Sido his bride, prompting Yann to return to France and rescue her.
The title refers to the murder signature of Count Kalliovski, who puts round the necks of all his murder victims a necklace of red garnets strung on a thin red ribbon. The effect of the necklace is to make it look as if the wearer's throat has been cut.
Hey everyone, Just curious if any of you have done a necklace mic for reality shows before? Someone that has done Jersey Shore or a similar show where men are shirtless and have a lav on. I might run into this on a new show I'm starting and would love some advice. I have put mics everywhere but haven't had the opportunity to do this yet. Any pictures would be much appreciated. Also any certain things needed to make it happen. I know on some shows they just give them like a cloth necklace and put the mic on that. Anything will help! Thanks in advance!

The Red Necklace, by Sally Gardner, was Hiddleston's first foray into audiobooks. The young adult novel tells the story of a young man with magical powers living in the time of the French Revolution. As if that description wasn't enticing enough, Hiddleston reads the audio version and it's perfect. Then last year Hiddleston recorded Octopussy and The Living Daylights, and Other Stories by Ian Fleming, which is a collection of short stories about 007 agent James Bond.
But while we wait for the dulcet tones of Hiddleston reading High Rise, fans can tide themselves over with his other audiobooks. Portions of them are available for preview on Youtube, and I highly recommend listening them because literature, but also because Hiddleston.
