Asfor toppings, I think Beth and her husband are a lot like Taylor and I (and probably many of you and your significant others) in that our tastes in pizza toppings are polar opposites. I like light and white, cheesey and green. Taylor likes what most boys like, marinara and meat.

So we made two pizzas, a his and hers of sorts. Hers was topped with a spicy arugula and pistachio pesto, and ricotta, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses. His was a classic marinara, mozzarella, and pepperoni. A solution that made everyone happy, proving, once again, that the key to a lasting relationship is, in fact, pizza.

Stir together the flour, salt, and instant yeast in the bowl of an electric mixer. Add the oil and the cold water and stir on low speed until the flour is all absorbed. Switch to the dough hook and mix on medium speed for 5 to 7 minutes, or as long as it takes to create a smooth, sticky dough. The dough should clear the sides of the bowl but stick to the bottom of the bowl. The finished dough will be springy, elastic, and sticky, not just tacky.

Transfer the dough to floured work surface. Lightly oil a baking dish or platter. Cut the dough into 3 equal pieces, and gently shape each piece into a ball. Arrange the dough balls on the prepared dish. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. At this point the dough balls can also be frozen; simply wrap each ball individually in plastic wrap and place inside a zippered freezer bag. Transfer to the refrigerator the day before you plan on baking them.

At least 45 minutes before making the pizza, place a baking stone either on a rack in the lower third of the oven. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F, allowing the baking stone to heat for at least 30 minutes.

Once crusts are cooled, arrange them on a baking sheet that has been lightly dusted with cornmeal. Top with desired toppings. Place pizzas in the freezer, uncovered, until completely frozen, 4-6 hours, then wrap in a double layer of plastic wrap and place inside a large zip-top freezer bag, removing as much air as possible. I also found that using a 9-inch cake round covered in foil worked well as a sturdy base for the pizza.

I just made pizza for the first time today! (not sure what took me so long to do so). But then I looked up online to try and see how I can go about making ahead and freezing some pizza for some nights that you described! It would save a lot of money and also the hassle of going to a restaurant. Thanks for sharing this post! One of my New Years resolution is to make more home made meals.

I have read through some similar topics! However, your post has given me a very special impression, unlike other posts. I hope you continue to have valuable articles like this or more to share with everyone!

Amazing! I made these today and I absolutely loved it! Looking forward to a day we need to make a quick dinner so I have an excuse to pull them out of the freezer. You should stop by my blog to see how they turned out.

i love this idea and i dont know why people havent thought of it before! this will be perfect for us gluten free people because so often gluten free pizza can be so gross. so when i find a good one i can make a bunch and freeze it!

Welcome to Love & Olive Oil, the culinary adventures of Lindsay and Taylor. We're all about food that is approachable but still impressive, unique and creative yet still true to its culinary roots. (More about us...)

I put this slice back in for another two minutes to try to salvage the crust, but it ended up being cracker-like along the edges and too soft in the middle. Plus, the toppings were dry and overcooked.

The promising sizzle I heard when I carefully placed a frozen slice of pizza on the heated tray had me hopeful about a crispy crust. But after 15 minutes, the whole pizza still looked pale and underdone.

I cut each pie in half so I had four slices ready to go, one for each appliance. I was excited to observe how the cheese would melt in each appliance and see if I could taste any difference in the tomato sauce from one slice to another.

After 10 minutes, I noticed some burned bits of crust and browned Pam residue at the bottom of the pan so I took the slice out. If I was to do this again, I'd keep a closer eye on the slice as it cooked.

When I took the pizza out, the slice got cold almost immediately and was on the soggier side. It wasn't my favorite but I felt that I'd enjoy this cooking method if I was in need of a quick pizza fix. After all, it only took four minutes.

Though they were pretty easy, the stovetop and microwave methods had their flaws when it came to cooking the slices. The oven-baked version was good but nothing can compare to the smokiness of the grilled slice.

Frozen pizza can taste great. Honest! Simply sprinkle on our new FROZEN PIZZA SEASONING. Start with 1 tsp. for a regular cheese pizza and kid-pleasing pizzas, 2 tsp.-or more!-for pizzas with more toppings and more flavor. This is also a wonderful seasoning for buttered noodles, marinara sauce, even garlic bread. Try some in bread crumbs for breading pork chops and chicken breasts.

Let the pizza cook for five minutes, then give it a quarter turn and let it cook for another five. Repeat two more times, then slide the pizza over to the direct side for a minute if you want to crisp up the bottom. (Be careful here, as it can burn, but I like a little char on my pizza.)

Sourdough Pizza Crust (wheat flour, water, semolina, salt, dried sourdough starter, yeast, extra virgin olive oil, calcium carbonate, iron, niacin, thiamin), Tomato Sauce (tomato puree, water, onion, red pepper, herbs, extra virgin olive oil, salt, garlic, sunflower oil, sugar, citric acid, black pepper), Minced Mushrooms (chestnut mushrooms, rapeseed oil, spices, onion, salt, yeast extract, herbs, lemon juice powder, sugar, garlic), Vegan Mozzarella Style Alternative (water, coconut oil, modified potato starch, sea salt, olive extract, flavoring, beta carotene [color]), Vegan Chorizo Alternative (water, textured soy protein concentrate, sunflower oil, red wine vinegar, sugar, tomato paste, potato starch, smoked paprika, smoked salt, spices, garlic powder, natural flavoring, paprika extract [color], salt, apple extract, smoked water, oregano), Vegan Pepperoni Alternative (water, sunflower oil, pea protein, carrageenan, konjac gum, fava bean protein, starch, flax seed meal, dried glucose syrup, salt, onion extract, natural flavoring, methylcellulose, smoked paprika, beet powder [color], paprika extract [color], spices, lactic acid, citric acid, garlic powder, yeast extract powder, onion powder, smoked salt, maltodextrin), Red Onion, Jalapeno Peppers.

Important: For best results, cook from frozen. If thawed, do not refreeze. Not suitable for microwave. Conventional ovens vary. Adjust baking time and temperature as needed for internal temperature of 165F.

Homemade frozen pizza is the ultimate meal prep recipe. Just par bake some pizza dough, top it with whatever you want, and freeze it for up to 3 months. Then, when you need a super-quick meal, take the frozen pizza out of your freezer and pop it right in the oven. Bam! (Sort-of) instant pizza night!

In the video above, I topped some of my pizzas with cubed fresh mozzarella and some with shredded low-moisture mozzarella as an experiment. The point was to figure out whether both cheeses worked equally as well on frozen pizza, or if one was clearly the better choice.

The verdict? When I baked the pizzas from frozen, the low-moisture mozzarella melted beautifully, not much different than it would on a fresh-made pizza. The fresh mozzarella, on the other hand, became a bit dehydrated in the freezer; rather than melting and spreading out into creamy pools, it browned into little cheese nuggets. Though I didn't hate the result of my frozen fresh mozzarella pizzas, it's safe to say that lower moisture cheeses are the better bet for this meal prep recipe.

According to Table 87 owner Thomas Cucco, who appeared on a 2015 episode of Shark Tank, his frozen pizza is superior to others due to a technique that cooks it for two minutes and then flash-freezes it. The Sharks, impressed, entered a bidding war; Cucco received a $250,000 investment from Lori Greiner after she negotiated a 19% take in the business.

Frozen Pizza can be a lifesaver. Everyone is busy, and everyone gets stressed out from time to time, so why not give the future version of yourself a break? Instead of running to the store on the way home from work to pick up a frozen pizza, you can do yourself a favor and make a better one, from scratch, that will be waiting for you to bake off at home whenever you need it.

Hi Gemma, thanks for the lovely and delicious recipe! Should we freeze the pizza for 30 minutes or a couple of hours before wrap it with cling film? You mention both times unless I got something wrong.

Hi Gemma,

Recently saw some of your videos which impressed me. Love and made your pizza dough and sauce and thought they were the best ever and so easy to make. I will definitely be making the frozen pizza recipe. What a great idea, thanks Gemma!

When Spago opened in 1982, it featured an "open kitchen," and diners had full view of the chefs at work. It's everywhere these days, but back then, open kitchens were revolutionary. Who's idea was it?

Wolfgang Puck: It was my idea, and the reason was very simple: It allowed me to supervise the kitchen and the dining room at the same time.
