It's a very interesting opportunity to watch astronomy science being done on a world class telescope.

They are using the Keck 10m scope in Hawaii to study distant galaxies. One of the scientist is from UOP in Stockton.

It starts tonight at 11:30pm pacific time.

We look forward to seeing you!    Jameeka Marshall      Coordinator | Shadow the Scientists   _______________________________________________ Details April 15, 8:30PM–10:30PM HST = April 16, 0630–0830 GMT April 16, 8:30PM–10:30PM HST = April 17, 0630–0830 GMT   Joel Roediger (Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre), Elisa Toloba (University of the Pacific), Eric Peng (NOIRLab), Raja GuhaThakurta (UC Santa Cruz), and their collaborators on the Next Generation Virgo Cluster Survey (NGVS) team will use the Keck II 10-meter telescope and Echelle Spectrograph and Imager (ESI) instrument on the summit of Maunakea on the Big Island of Hawai’i. The team will study a class of low-mass galaxies, dwarf elliptical (dE) galaxies, in the Virgo cluster of galaxies.
