We lost one of our own

Hi SAS Astro Family;

Buck Turgis’ wife called me today and said that Buck had died yesterday. Buck lived in San Francisco and was a Chemistry prof at UC Berkeley. He dealt with John Dobson frequently. In fact the stack of Dobson’s 16” mirror blanks in my shop are from Buck. He also brought a 32” blank over to the shop to analyze for ATMing. It is, if I remember, 7” thick or so. It is also broke and chipped, but that wasn’t going to stop him. He also has many other instruments. Sorry to see you go Buck.
