Hi SAS:
Ā
Ā Ā Thursday morning from roughly 09:10 to 09:42, the Moon will pass in front of the planet Saturn. It will be low in the SW, so in order to not have trees and rooftops interfering with my view, Iāll be heading to our Hwy 4 site. Remember, this is a daytime event, broad daylight. You can still see Saturn in the telescope, and youāll know exactly where to look to see it, right next to the Moon.
Ā
Ā Ā Somewhere between 09:05 and 09:12, Saturn will disappear on the upper right hand limb of the Moon, all of which are about Azimuth 234, Altitude 29. Then Saturn will be goners, until somewhere between 09:40 and 09:44, where it will pop out on the dark side of the Moon just a hair below the right side of the Moon, all of which will be about Azimuth 242 Altitude 23.
Ā Ā Ā I am hoping that others will join me on this extremely rare observing opportunity. For people who work, yes, this is a Thursday morning. But please, please, post here if you plan on observing it and where you plan on for a site.

I couldnāt see Saturn in my camera viewfinder, so I just enjoyed seeing it visually. I suppose I could have shot it and checked later to see if it could be seen, but I needed to have some fun.Ā Eric may have nailed it.
