Noah Gragson signs with Front Row Motorsports (NASCAR Cup)
Noah Gragson has found a new home for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Front Row Motorsports (FRM) announced Wednesday that it has signed Gragson to a multiyear deal. His car number, crew chief and partners will be announced at a later date.

“We feel that this is a great opportunity and the perfect time to bring Noah to our organization,” team owner Bob Jenkins said in a press release. “He has just the right amount of experience in the NASCAR Cup Series to break out and become a winner for years to come. This season, Noah has started to get the finishes and race consistently up front, which was expected from him.

“Joining our team, staying with Ford Performance, and welcoming him to our partners, we are only going to accelerate his opportunity to win races and compete in the playoffs. This is the driver that we want to help get us more wins.”

Gragson is in the midst of his second Cup Series season. His rookie campaign was a struggle with Legacy Motor Club that was ended early after he liked a racially insensitive social media post and was suspended indefinitely.

The Nevadan was reinstated in September and signed with Stewart-Haas Racing, where he’s reinvigorated his Cup career. The 25-year-old has earned six of his seven career top-10s and one of two top-fives in 20 starts with the No. 10 team, leaving him 23rd in points with an average finish (18.3) nearly 10 spots better than in 2023.

He’ll arrive at Front Row alongside former Craftsman Truck Series teammate Todd Gilliland, with a third teammate to be named in the future. Current FRM driver Michael McDowell will move to Spire Motorsports in 2025.

Bubba Wallace fined for post-race contact with Bowman (NASCAR Cup)
Bubba Wallace was fined $50,000 by NASCAR for his contact with race winner Alex Bowman on the cooldown lap after Sunday’s Cup Series race in Chicago.

Bowman had spun Wallace earlier in the day, sending him around in Turn 2 on lap 25. Wallace got his revenge during the cool down lap, driving into the side of Bowman’s car and sending it into the wall.

This isn’t the pair’s first drama. They had a post-race altercation after another incident during the 2019 Charlotte Roval race, where Wallace splashed Bowman with his drink while Bowman was being attended to by medical personnel. But they moved on from that incident and have had minimal issues in the years since.

Bowman understood Wallace’s anger and didn’t feel he should be penalized in the hours after the race.

“I’d be mad, too,” Bowman said afterward. “I ruined his day. The restart was chaotic. I just made every wrong decision I possibly could, and I was fighting with my windshield wiper switch trying to get the thing working and I couldn’t get it working.

“I was focused on that, missed the corner and cleaned him out. I locked all four tires up and slid right into him. I just messed up and absolutely ruined his day.”

Wallace went on to salvage a 13th-place finish. He currently sits 17th in the provisional playoff standings, 45 points below the playoff cutline. Bowman was hovering around the bubble, but locked himself into the postseason with the Chicago win.

Triple Eight confirms sale of Jess Dane’s stake (Supercars)
A new era is underway at Triple Eight Race Engineering.

The Supercars team announced Friday that Jess Dane has sold her 30 percent stake in the team to Earl Evans and Steve Blackmore. The duo bought the stake in partnership and will join Triple Eight’s board, while Dane departs with immediate effect.

“I'm thrilled to announce these exciting strategic changes as it prepares Triple Eight for the next phase of growth,” managing director Jamie Whincup said in a team release. “Firstly, we can't ignore Jess' enormous contribution to the team over her incredible tenure. She has been an invaluable member of the Triple Eight family since day dot working in all facets of the business.

“We understand Jess's commitment to her career aspirations in the US, and we know she will always remain connected to the foundations her father (Roland) built.

“In saying that, we are thrilled to welcome Earl and Steve to our shareholder group. Their wealth of business experience will enhance our team and support our continued evolution, strengthening our current programs and engaging new opportunities. Their passion and expertise align perfectly with our vision for the future, and I'm excited to see where we can take it.”

Friday’s announcement is noteworthy for multiple reasons. The Dane family no longer holds a stake in Triple Eight for the first time in the company’s Australian history - though founder Roland Dane remains onboard as a non-executive chairman.

The arrival of Evans and Blackmore comes after the companies they served as CEO, Shaw and Partners and Southern Cross Truck Rentals, departed from Erebus Motorsport amid its spat with defending champion Brodie Kostecki at the start of the year.

“Having owned multiple companies over the past 20 years, the prospect of buying into an established and successful business in Triple Eight Race Engineering was really exciting,” Blackmore said. “Having had a passion for motorsport that goes back to my childhood, in recent years I had been involved as a personal sponsor of athletes in the sport and teams through my numerous businesses, which fueled my desire to purchase an equity stake in a team.

“I had been looking for an opportunity to transition from sponsor to investor in the sport and the opportunity at Triple Eight was both a perfect opportunity and fit. Triple Eight is without peer in the sport in my opinion and it has a proven track record of delivering results that are consistently the best in motorsports in Australia.

“The opportunity to invest is achievable as the company is self-sufficient with its existing structure, processes and systems and I'll be able to enjoy participating as a part owner whilst the business not being dependent on me to operate.”
