NASCAR
Cup Series: On a weekend of mourning for the NASCAR industry, it’s only fitting that the weather matched the mood. But while weather-related issues may have shortened each race in the end, they also provided a keen opportunity for one of Kyle Busch Motorsports’ former drivers.
The emotions were high from start to finish. NASCAR drivers stood around Kyle Busch’s wife, Samantha, their children and brother Kurt Busch during the opening ceremonies. Suarez later erupted in tears when his win was made official.
 
O’Reilly Auto Parts Series: Ross Chastain drove through everything on Saturday night - rain, oil and the outside wall included. At night’s end, the Floridian added victory lane to the list.

Craftsman Truck Series: No tour fell victim to the elements more than the Trucks in Charlotte. The series’ race was set to open the weekend on Friday night, got moved to Saturday morning, shifted back to Saturday night and, ultimately, ran Sunday with a TV-mandated end time.
But in the end, the tour reached the checkered flag - albeit a bit short of the scheduled distance. In a race filled with a series-high 11 cautions and stopped just past noon ET to avoid cutting into Indy 500 coverage, Layne Riggs led as the clock ran out after 110 of 134 planned laps to score his second win of the year. (Reid Spencer / NASCAR.com)

IndyCar: Less than three weeks after welcoming his daughter, Stella, Felix Rosenqvist capped off his magical Month of May with IndyCar’s biggest prize.
The race both went away from Rosenqvist and came back to him in the final laps. Rosenqvist was leading comfortably on a winning alternative strategy when caution slowed the field with just nine to go. That left him as a sitting duck for a restart with four laps left, but Mick Schumacher scrubbed the wall to bring out another yellow seconds after the green flag flew.
Rosenqvist fell to third over that short run. But when the race restarted with a single lap remaining, he jumped to teammate Marcus Armstrong’s outside, won the battle of wills into Turn 3 and chased Team Penske’s David Malukas off of Turn 4.
What happened over the next few seconds will live on in Indy 500 lore. Rosenqvist chased down Malukas, jumped to his outside and inched ahead just before the start-finish line.
 
Formula 1
F1: After years of filling the morning portion of Racing Christmas, F1 shifted into the midcard with a 4 p.m. ET start in the Canadian Grand Prix.
The move was a calculate risk that didn’t fully pay off - lights out coincided with the classic Indy finish mentioned above - but F1 ultimately lived up to its portion of the day with a memorable race that may prove consequential in the championship battle.
Entering as the championship leader, Kimi Antonelli found himself matched up against Mercedes teammate George Russell in a tense early battle. But Russell ultimately suffered a power unit failure resulting in a rare DNF, opening the door for Antonelli to march off to a comfortable win that extends his championship advantage. (F1.com)
There was still a battle for the podium in the closing laps, though. Lewis Hamilton chased down Max Verstappen to claim second for Ferrari, relegating Verstappen to third.
