Bouncing off the wall twice during his qualifying lap, #97-Shane van Gisbergen still won the Busch pole for the Anduril 250 Race the Base NASCAR Cup Series race at Naval Base Coronado with a speed of 90.809 mph for his second pole of the year and sixth of his career.
#77-Carson Hocevar put down a fast lap in second (90.704 mph). #12-Ryan Blaney will start third (90.634 mph), with Front Row Motorsports drivers #38-Zane Smith (90.405 mph) and #34-Todd Gilliland (90.402 mph) round out the top five.
#7-Daniel Suarez, #60-Ryan Preece, #88-Connor Zilisch, #71-Michael McDowell and #33-Austin Hill complete the top 10.

Making a last-lap pass entering Turn 3, #21-Austin Hill won the United Rentals Driven to Serve 250 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Naval Base Coronado. It is his first career road-course victory, and his second triumph of the 2026 season.
#54-Taylor Gray led a race-high 16 laps, but wheel-hopped on the final lap en route to a runner-up finish. #00-Sheldon Creed, #1-Carson Kvapil and #8-Sammy Smith rounded out the top five. Gray nudged Kvapil from the lead with three laps remaining but both remained inside the top five.
#2-Jesse Love placed sixth, with #99-Parker Retzlaff, #87-Austin Green, #24-Harrison Burton and #17-Corey Day completing the top 10. Day lost four laps early in the race after hitting a manhole cover but was allowed to pass the field back in order to get back on the lead lap.
#21-Hill won the opening stage, with #54-Gray taking Stage 2.
There were 10 lead changes among five drivers and eight cautions for 17 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 58.313 mph.
