Hi everyone,

Were you thinking about running a story game at Auscon? Then stop
thinking and start registering. The deadline for registrations is
looming. We need to know about your game very soon so that it can go
into the game schedule.

Send details to me by July 22 to guarantee that your game gets into
the schedule. That's not far away at all.

Find out more about it at the Auscon website: http://www.auscongames.com.au

So this is the first I'm hearing of Auscon, but it looks really
awesome. Is it being healed in Brisbane? If not I won't be able to
come I'm afraid. Also, do you need to book to run card game tests or
just RP's?

Definitely being held in Brisbane - at the RNA showgrounds to be precise. And registering your game (whatever kind) means that it will appear in the convention schedule and attract players.

Do you have a game in mind to run?

I'd love to but I can never know for sure if my wife will let me out of the house,
However does anyone know when tickets are going on sale for this.

Tickets will probably go on sale during August, after the event schedule is published.

Are you wanting indie specifically, Andrew?

If not, I’d like to run a game of Leverage.

The Golden Apple Job

Leverage is a game about a gang of confidence tricksters trying to set the world to rights, by taking down one powerful crook at a time.  It uses a very simple skill system, and you don’t need to have watched the Leverage television program to understand what’s going on.  If watch Hustle, though, that’d give you an idea of the feel we’ll be trying for.  The game works best with precisely five players, and pregens will be provided. Bring a set of polyhedral dice and pencils.

And if I don’t offer to run some Ars, the other Ars authors will mock me, so…

The Legacy of Thomae

The archmagus Thomae was famous throughout Mythic Europe for creating a flying castle, but no-one has heard from him in a generation. When a merchant sells a medallion with Thomae’s face inscribed upon it, the player characters may have found the first clue to his fate.  Can they discover his secrets before their rivals, and can they survive whatever made an archmagus disappear? This game uses the Ars Magica system, which works best for groups of six or less. Pregens will be provided. Bring ten sided dice and pencils.

It says something on the site about Stockade workshops…what’s going on there?

Workshops? Hmm. I was wondering if they wanted seminars etc

I know I'm usually begging for indie games, but not this time. Any story game or RPG is welcome. Run Cyberpunk 2020 if you like. Run original Palladium Fantasy, or TMNT if you like.

In fact, I'll almost sign up for TMNT to get my nostalgia fix. :)

The workshops are planned to cover a couple of things, but not as intensive as Uprising. I have in mind to make a morning of it, perhaps the Saturday, and cover the highlights from previous years and any other great ideas that people have for seminars. Because it's Stockade, it'll be about creating games. Details to come.
