Hi everyone,
A couple of days ago I was looking at a print on demand book I was
thinking of getting and wonderd if there were any such services for
board games... and it turns out there are!
I was really surprised. I found these 2 sites that seem really good.
http://www.thegamecrafter.com/
The Game Crafter seems to have less advanced production features in
terms of card and board pringing but on the other hand it's user
interface seems a lot easer to use, it has game peases all set up in
the shop and building your decks and boards all seem very user
friendly. There also seems to be more emphasis on community with the
forum and chat program easily accessed from any page.
http://superiorpod.onprintshop.com/product_list.html
Superior Print On Demand seems to have much higher build quality and
they can print things like those thick card board chits (I think it's
called chip board) tokens and printed card tuck boxes. They can also
apparently print proper game boards (unlike Game Crafter witch only
has game boards printed on thick card stock) however it seems like a
lot of the products are not displayed in there product section. Fore
instance I think if you wont to have a game board or tokens in your
game you have to ask for them in the "custom job" section. Apparently
they are working on updating there product section in there web site
though. The tools for setting up the cards and other things, while
they appear serviceable, don't seem to be as good as the Game Crafter
one.
Now, I have to say, I have not actually used ether of these survaces.
What I wrote here is just based on checking out there web sites and
there tutorial/product demo videos. So you should keep that in mind.
But even though I haven't had a chance to use them they do look very
good. What do you people think? Have you known about this for ages? XD
Anyway, have a good one.
