Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Cheat

Thispage contains a list of cheats, codes, Easter eggs, tips, and other secrets for Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit for PlayStation. If you've discovered a cheat you'd like to add to the page, or have a correction, please click EDIT and add it.

Enter this code after you've chosen a race, but before the LOADING screen appears.Press and Hold (Just until the loading screen comes up)...Lets your car run down the traffic without slowing down. Select+Square+X

When the RMP loading screen appears press Start, Select, R1 and L2 at the same time. Hold them until the game finishes loading. Now when you honk your horn (by pressing up) you will smash other cars out of the way.

Select the Rocky Pass track. Then before the loading screen appears,immediatly hold right + R1 + L2. keep the buttons held until the loadingscreen disappears. Now during the race the white and blue Jeeps will bereplaced by Crown Victorias. To enable this code on the Summit track, holddown + R1 + L2 while the track loads

Select the Redrock Ridge track. Then before the loading screen appears,immediately hold Down + R1 + L2 continue to hold the buttons until theloading screen disappears. Now the Green Landrovers will be replaced by Gumball police during the race

After selecting the game options, press start to load the race, then beforethe loading screen appears, immediatly hold left + square + circle. Keepthe buttons held until the loading screen disappears. Now the horsepower ofyour car will be boosted by 25%.

Country Woods:

On the Country Woods track,once you get past two or three 90 degree turns, you should come to a really sharp hairpin, (look for it on the map display) once you come to that, you see a little hill of snow off to the side of the road. Go up the hill, then cut the wheel sharp to realign yourself with the track.This gives you an enormous amount of ground!

Empire City:

The first shortcut is almost immediately after you start the race. The shortcut is on the left, right before you see the crane, there is also a street light almost inside the shortcut.

After you come out of the second shortcut there is a cement barrier directly ahead of you. Slightly to the left of this there are several flashing barriers, go through these and follow the path. Be sure to turn to the left so that you can head in the right direction on the track.

The fourth shortcut is after you pass through the lighted tunnel and a row of pillars (the second long row of pillars you have come across). Right after you pass all of the pillars go into the lighted area to the right. Stay in this area until the lights end. Right when the lights end there is a miscolored part of the wall with flyers on it. Run through the wall and you are inside the shortcut.

Hometown:

On the Hometown track, right before the first covered bridge, there's a stretch of grass before and in the turn. Cut through the grass right before the turn, then let the car slide up to the left side of the track, don't get too close to the side of the bridge though.This tip should cut off a few seconds from your time, it will also boost your speed for the upcoming jump.

Red Rock Ridge:

In redrock ridge, there is a shortcut through the hairpin, right before it, there is a place to pull over on the right, drive through there, and powerslide left right before the cactus, then go straight forward through the cleared area, and turn left onto the road. This helps when you're being chased by the cops, they have to take the hairpin, so you can lose them.

You can make the traffic vehicles in NFSHP2 go faster than default. First, go to the EA Games\Need for Speed Htt Pursuit 2\AI\AIRacers.ini file. There should be a page of ai player stats (personality, car, etc.). Scroll down the page to [entity13]. Under name, this should say TRF0

As you might know, when you restart in a race, you start off at a given speed.(Depending on the difficulty). If you go to the racetune.ini file, these speeds can be changed. Under that file, under the Racer.ResetSpeedMPH line under beginner, medium, and hard, you can change the reset speeds from 35; 22; and 0, to whatever sbeed you'd prefer.

On the Calypso Course level, on one of the hard left turns, there is a cave, enter the cave and keep driving till you see bushes blocking a wall with a black outline. Drive through the bushes for s secret passage within a secret passage!

At the main menu, select Hot Pursuit and then choose event 1, Lotus Elise Delivery. After coming out of the first tunnel drive up the big hill and you will see the first cop on the side of the road. Drive the car as if you are going to take the shortcut to the right of the cop car, but steer left at the last moment and stay on the paved road. The cop will take the short cut and lose sight of you for a while. After driving across the iron-work bridge and through the underpass, another cop will be waiting on the left. Follow the fence line on the right very closely and take the shortcut down the hill. This will not only shave seconds off of your lap time, but help you to lose the cops.

Open the cars.ini file in the Game's CARS folder using notepad and change these lines

price=10

nfsprice=10

For cheap tracks open tracks.ini in the TRACKS folder and change all lines starting with m_price to look similar to this

m_price[0]=10

Here is a simple code if u want all the cars and tracks. First go to my computer and click on drive D or C (were ever u installed your game.) Then scroll down till u see a folder called TRACKS. Click on it and then click on another file that say tracks and u will see that every track is copied in a neat order. And u will see the word (example:) m_prices(2)=30,000 just change that 30,000 into zero and when u are done exit out and it will say do u want to save click yes. then exit out of the file and the folder and look for a file called Cars and do the same thing click on it and click on another file called cars. And it will neatly show each car in order. For example scroll down to your favorite car (Mercedes Benz clk_gtr) and change your favorites car price and nfs price to zero.

Note: when u change nfs price to zero the nfs edition car will cost only 2,000. Then u can change all of them. Get out of the folder and save when it asks u and exit everything out. Click on your game and single race and if u want to change track it will be on 0 just unlock it without paying and something with the cars except nfs edition

To gain extra money you must first have not bought too many tracks. End the game if it is not already closed. Go to the location of your file. Usually it is stored under C:\program files\EAGames\Hot Pursuit 2. Next go into the file called tracks. In this folder you should find a text file called tracks, open it. If you scroll down you will notice that all of the tracks are grouped in an organized order. you should notice three or four numbers with some of them being different and some of them the same. All of these numbers should be in the thousands. Change all of these numbers to a negative number such as -60000. You may wish to change all the numbers for each track to a negative number. Exit the program clicking YES to save. Start the game and buy a couple of tracks, when you buy them the computer will end up paying you money. You will know if you have done the program correctly if the computer says the track costs -60000. Also you can switch the track to backward!

At the Fall Winds track, when you start, keep going straight until you find the first shortcut. It may be a long drive, but you will eventually get there. Go in there. Drive all the way through. When you come out, keep driving until you see a tunnel. Once you see the tunnel, immediately steer to the left of the track into the dirt. Keep going and it will lead you to the south rock mine. Once you come out, you have gone through the secret passage.

People with NFS:HP2............I have a cheat that's good for you (nice rhyme eh) anyhow you' want to' get 175 grand in points COURSE YA' DO and that's what am here for ok here's what you do you start any race with any car and any amount of laps whether its 2,4 or 8 whatever amount you so desire then at the end of a lap (not the end of the race) press L2 (360 degree camera view of ya' car) then if done correctly you should see a LOT more points on the screen than the last time you got some and to unlock the Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge at the main menu press the following.

First get a Mclearn F1 (unlocked or cheat does not matter) then go to Hot Pursuit and pick challenge mode pick the Mclearn and choose the Island Outskirts track. Then take a sand shortcut it is near the end of the race. It will have two tunnels on the second one hit the right side of the wall and you will go flying.

t the main menu, select Hot Pursuit and then choose event 1, Lotus Elise Delivery.

- After coming out of the first tunnel drive up the big hill and you will see the first cop on the side of the road. When You have a cop on your tail the best way to get rid of him is to wreck him. First try to slam him into another car or something on the road that is sticking out. If that doesn't work slam on your brakes and stay behind him for a second then gather speed and when you get close hit his back side panel to spin him out then speed of and take the closest short cut.
