Service Opportunities at the Cathedral
Dinner at L’Arche (Adams Morgan)
Saturday, June 20 - 5:30 PM
Once a month, a small group from St. Matthew's visits the L'Arche houses in Adams Morgan to bring and share dinner with the residents, people with intellectual disabilities and the assistants who live with them in community. We bring different healthy food items (homemade or store-bought) for anywhere from 6-12 people and get to know the residents by sharing dinner with them. If you'd like to help with this dinner, please send an email to stmatt...@gmail.com by Thursday, June 18.
Serve as a Liturgical Minister at the Cathedral: The Cathedral is in need of liturgical ministers at all Masses, including weekday Masses. Ministers of hospitality (greeters), ushers, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and servers are especially needed. The suggested commitment is one Sunday per month. Contact Deacon Garcia (james.anth...@gmail.com) for more information on expectations and training.
Homeless Ministry: Volunteers are needed to prepare bagged lunches for the poor and homeless who come to the St. Matt’s West Conference Room each Monday morning for food and social services. Contact Olivia or Norma if you would like to provide lunches once a month, every other month, or as a one-time service.
