C†YA for Supper   

Thursday, June 25 – 7:00 PM - Ankara (1320 19th Street NW / Dupont Circle)

All young adults and fellow foodies are encouraged to join us for our monthly supper clubs and are welcome to bring friends or coworkers!  This month we're headed to the brand new Turkish restaurant in Dupont Circle - Ankara.  Check out their extensive authentic menu here. C†YA / STAY for Happy Hour

Friday, June 19 – 6 to 9 PM – The Madhatter (1319 Connecticut Avenue / Dupont Circle)

Join us for the ever popular C†YA / STAY happy hour this summer!  Feel free to bring friends or coworkers, or just come on your own to meet other young Catholics in DC at this joint happy hour with St. Thomas Apostle Young Adults (STAY).  We have the mezzanine level reserved. Join the Cathedral Young Adults for an afternoon at the ballpark! Small Faith Sharing Groups
**Forming Now!** Please join other Cathedral parishioners this summer for our next small faith-sharing groups, which will discuss Open to the Holy Spirit, by Cardinal Wuerl.  We will independently read a chapter each week and then discuss in the small groups. You can sign-up after Mass this weekend OR please use this doodle link (https://doodle.com/kpwwetrqxyxwzgma) to select your preferred meeting day or time by June 8th. There are several options for times and days of the week to fit your busy schedule!

Wine and Wisdom

Wine and Wisdom is a discussion and faith-sharing group for young adult women. Our conversations are intended to help form, encourage, strengthen, and prepare those who attend to be the women that God has designed them to be. The Northwest Center provides support and comprehensive care that enables women to deliver and care for healthy babies.  The Cathedral Young Adults get together each month to sort donations or do odd jobs around the Center.

Service Opportunities at the Cathedral

Serve as a Liturgical Minister at the Cathedral: The Cathedral is in need of liturgical ministers at all Masses, including weekday Masses. Ministers of hospitality (greeters), ushers, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and servers are especially needed. The suggested commitment is one Sunday per month. Contact Deacon Garcia (james.anth...@gmail.com) for more information on expectations and training.     

   

Homeless Ministry: Volunteers are needed to prepare bagged lunches for the poor and homeless who come to the St. Matt’s West Conference Room each Monday morning for food and social services. Contact Olivia or Norma if you would like to provide lunches once a month, every other month, or as a one-time service.

Other Individual Volunteer Opportunities in DC

·         You can find additional volunteer opportunities through Catholic Charities using their volunteer portal.

·         The Northwest Center seeking Spanish-speaking (both fluent and proficient) volunteers for the pregnancy center’s Step Up program. Pro-life volunteers sought to undergo counseling training with the agency and provide assistance to Spanish-speaking pregnant and parenting women and families through referrals to community resources as well as material assistance. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to weekly or bi-weekly service, Monday - Friday between 9am-5pm.If interested, please contact Jenny Ginsberg (je...@northwestcenter.net) or call 202-483-7008

·       The San Miguel School of Washington DC is launching a young professionals advisory group. San Miguel DC is a Lasallian Catholic middle school serving low-income families by providing a 9 hour school day (until 5pm) and a year-round schedule with small class sizes and intensive tutoring. We continue to provide support to over 170 graduates in high school, college, and the workforce. If you are interested in Catholic education, Catholic Social Teaching's preferential option for the poor, or urban education--this is the group for you! Join us as we network with fellow DC young professionals and spread the word about San Miguel School. ·       Feeling called to service leadership? Catholic Charities is recruiting a group of energetic reliable volunteers to serve on the Hope Corps Volunteer Committee.  Members of this committee would serve as liaisons between Catholic Charities staff, volunteers, and populations served by their events.  Members of the Committee must commit to leading 9 service days per year.  Contact Carolyn (cewa...@gmail.com) for more information.

Cathedral Young Adults Mission

The mission of the Cathedral young adult ministry is to support the community of Catholic adults in their 20’s and 30’s who live and work in DC in the continued growth of their faith, discernment of their vocations, and development as stewards of the Church through opportunities for socializing, community service and spiritual reflection.
