Hey All,

RJI has been asked to give a presentation on restorative justice to the deans of St. Edward’s University in Austin on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 1:30 pm.  St. Edward’s is considering incorporating RJ into the curriculum and the University course study.  I will be providing most of the background info on RJ but could really use some others to accompany me to relate their experiences and knowledge.  Any of you who have facilitated and/or were interns to Marquette are invited to participate in the dialogue.  I will be staying afterward to attend a meeting at Dr. Tim Green’s home on race relations.  Dr. Green is chair of the English department at St. Edward’s and has organized what he terms a “Diversation.”  People of diverse ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds will be present and will engage in a honest and frank discussion of their perspectives and experiences with persons of particular ethnicities and ethnic and cultural issues.  I’ve attached the invitation that may explain more clearly.  The meeting begins that Friday evening at 6:30 pm with a potluck supper and will conclude around 8:30 or 9:00.  I will be staying in Austin that night and anyone who rides with me is welcome to stay as well (At my dad’s house. Includes music and swimming pool.)  Otherwise, I can forward to you the invitation and directions from Dr. Green.  Participation in the “Diversation” is not related to the RJ presentation and you are welcome to participate at St. Edward’s and opt out of attending the discussion on race.

Please let me know ASAP if you would like to participate in the St. Edward’s presentation and also whether or not you would like to attend the discussion on race at Dr. Green’s home.
