Subject: Talk about Indigenous RJ- Rwandan 'kuchacha' (might be misspelled)
Importance: High

To All:

Laura Waters Hinson produced this movie for her Masters.  I just finished

listening to her interview on National Public Radio (NPR- The Diane Rehm

Show).  What a fantastic show- if the Rwandan's can undertake forgiveness

for the past genocide, it certainly leads the way in helping the rest of the

world (US!) view RJ as the appropriate framework for criminal justice.

Although Hinson did not use the words 'Restorative Justice', what she

documents is indigenous RJ at it's finest; Practical Applications of RJ!

http://www.asweforgivemovie.com/    This is Hinson's documentary.

http://wamu.org/programs/dr/   (As We Forgive- Hinson's interview on the

Diane Rehm/NPR segment).  The interview can be heard in it's entirety or a

transcript ordered.  Your time (or money) is WELL-SPENT!

http://www.heal-reconcile-rwanda.org/   (Note the bird, quite similar to our

RJ logo).  This is one of the efforts at healing within Rwanda

Please take the time to listen to the segment!!  And forward it!!!  In the

interview, you'll hear one caller (a call in) and how he struggles to

understand that level of forgiveness (vs retribution, etc)  within the

Christian faith.  This interview, this film may help.
