out to be a time for celebration and community congratulation. The
giving even continues: today we received a $1,000 donation from Dr.
David J. McGrath III, who noticed we had already met our $50,000 goal
but wanted to help just the same.
* StM FUND = $52,891 (goal was $50,000)
* SPONSORS = 9, totaling $13,000 annually (goal is $25,000)
* BOARD MEMBERS = 17 (goal was 16)
The StM Fund will continue to grow, thanks to the several fundraisers
planned for September. But more exciting are the seeds planted in the
form of dozens of new volunteers, a new network of business
supporters and partners, an energetic new group of potential board
members, a new, much-improved relationship with our landlord, and a
newly-charged and enthusiastic group of families and kids that make
up our membership.
The current Board of Directors would like to thank all the many
people and groups who worked tirelessly and donated generously to
make this happen. Special thanks go to the Met's Executive Director
Tracy LaPlante: some months we couldn't even pay her salary on time,
but her spirit never faltered, and she has led us through this
difficult period and continues to do so in the exciting yet
challenging days ahead.
These daily email updates will shift to a weekly basis through
September. We should then have some new forms of communication ready
for you, as there will be a lot to talk about.
