Nearly a dozen independent shopping consultants have each made a
significant donation and are staging this fun night of refreshments
and shopping to help support the Met. Come see what they have to
offer: RSVP early to get seven free raffle tickets by calling the Met
(425-2560), or visit this page for more information:

We refer to this as the last "Save the Met" fundraiser because we're
shifting from the fundraising frenzy of the past several weeks to the
new "normal" mode of operation for the museum.
The new Board of Directors is getting organized, the museum is
getting cleaned and refurbished, new website work is underway, and
we'll soon be announcing our Fall and Winter schedule of educational
programs and family events. On October 6th we'll be offering free
admission and a big Met Day celebration so everyone in the community
can come and see what the Met is all about.
We're also building new partnerships and will continue to have
fundraisers every month or two. On October 22nd, for example, rubber
stamping expert Joy Cronin is conducting a Winter Wonderland Shoebox
Stamp-a-Stack workshop (watch the website for early registration
info coming soon).
On the financial front, we have taken care of the immediate expenses
and taxes, are up to date on recent rent payments, and are more than
halfway through that big back-rent debt. Over 65% of the pledged StM
funds have been converted to cash, but we do need that last 35% as
well! Please make your payment soon if you haven't yet; you can get a
payment form on the website:
Also, thanks to everyone who worked hard to make last weekend's
Computer Smash, Kick-a-Thon, and DerryFest games and Duck Drop such
fun and successful events. We'll have photos and more details next week.
THANK YOU for your interest and support!
