A big side-benefit of the Save the Met campaign was made obvious
today in Griffin Park in Windham. Michelle Wilson and her children
were selling homemade lemonade and cookies for the Met, at a stand
they made with posters and photos from their visits to the museum.
You can see some pictures on our new "Scenes" web page:

Sales were pretty good, but the most striking thing was Michelle's
evangelizing for the Met. Her enthusiastic descriptions clearly
encouraged a good many people not familiar with the Met to stop by
with their children. And probably several of them will come several
times, and sign up to be members.

The dollars we've all raised are fantastic, but it's certainly this
new spirit that pervades the campaign and the ever-broadening
partnerships resulting from it that will ultimately Save the Met for
real. Still, the dollars do look pretty good:

* StM FUND = $51,891 (goal was $50,000)
* SPONSORS = 9, totaling $13,000 annually (goal is $25,000)
* BOARD MEMBERS = 17 (goal was 16)

THANK YOU for your interest and support!
