Despite our conservatism in waiting for a Friday announcement, it
appears that de facto Save the Met success is bubbling up all over
the place! We received multiple "congratulations" after Channel 9
this morning ran a simplified story from yesterday's news release
under the title "Met is Saved." And in the biggest sign of
confidence, people have been spontaneously making cash donations
rather than pledges, or coming in early to convert their pledge into
cash.

We certainly don't mind, because yes, it does indeed look like the
Met will be continuing! We need to shift from "saving the Met" to the
new, better way of "running the Met" as soon as possible, and StM
cash and checks will help make this happen. Accordingly, in the daily
numbers we're moving the Cash amount into the Pledges category, and
also renaming that category "StM Fund." This change, plus continuing
new contributions, puts us nicely over the $%50,000 goal:

* StM FUND = $51,391 (goal is $50,000)
* SPONSORS = 9, totaling $13,000 annually (goal is $25,000)
* BOARD MEMBERS = 17 (goal is 16)

You may also notice we added three more three-year Sponsors: the
Szustak Family, Arbonne International by Dawn Houle, and the East
Derry School of Music. Their exciting commitment to the museum helps
us appreciate that a team of sole proprietorships, small businesses,
and even generous families can be just as effective at helping the
Met as larger corporations. Be sure to visit them, and all the great
sponsors and supporters listed on our website:
