This is slightly off topic but has anyone ever heard of Ardon
Consulting? I got a call from a recruiter there (Angela Schnieders)
out of the blue. She found me on LinkedIn and said she had some Ruby
job opportunities in the St. Louis area.

I'm leery of anything out of the blue. I recently started looking for
a Ruby or some other programming job since where I am sure aint'
cutting it (I'm not in a coding job but I code here anyway because I'm
bored). I just didn't know if a recruiter contacting you and wanting
to help you get a job is a typical thing and whether it is good or
bad.

So I'm just looking for whether this is typical, whether this is a
good thing, and whether anyone has experience with Ardon.

I know Angela and she's a great person to work with. She has also
supported Strange Loop and Lambda Lounge in the past. I have had a
couple friends placed by her.

And yes, getting cold contacted by a recruiter is typical. :)

You might want to give your contact a call and let them know that
their website, ardonconsulting.com, does not display properly on a Mac
using Safari, Firefox or Chrome.

Yeah, it doesn't display right on Windows either.... not to mention it doesn't really give much detail.

Looks like dodo on FF/Linux also!

While in general, contacts from such a recruiter can be a positive
experience, I would run from an organization that can't put up a
basic 'here we are' web page.

Be sure to tell her that!

PS - If you are looking for a Ruby job, there are tons posted on
LinkedIn and other St. Louis online sites.

Jay said the web site doesn't "display properly" -- I see a little bit
of text in Firefox, but nothing visible at all in Chrome and Safari.
They both display the object properties, so I can see that something
is there, but it's a real pain, and nothing on the site is accessible.
