Free Meeting: This is a free meeting for anyone interested in learning how to build Ruby on Rails web applications. We welcome developers, designers, students, professionals, anyone wanting to learn more about the latest web development techniques and frameworks.

Details: From the beginning... we will be creating a new web application from scratch using test first BDD/TDD Rails development. We will start with an idea, create a spec and some tests, HTML prototype, and then work to make it into a live web application. Jeff Barczewski and Mike Sullivan will be your co-presenters for the evening.

We will build our application using:

  • RSpec / BDD
  • TDD
  • Migrations
  • Rails MVC
  • MasterView

As part of this ongoing series each month, we will teach you how to build web applications one step at a time. We'll illustrate this using an agile approach iteratively building our application as we go. We will start out simple and add features over time much like you would in the real world. Each month we will focus on a new area of the application and framework so you'll always be learning.
