Usefulness of this Google Group

I think it's time we shut down this group. Post a home page linking to
the STL Ruby group, and only allow group managers to post new
messages.

Because the info on the home page gets out of date, because nobody
updates it.

As far as I can tell, we've got 4 places we have to update every month
with meeting info:

stlruby.org
stlrails.org
stlruby Google Group
stlrails Google Group

And honestly, we haven't been doing a very good job with any of them.

Maybe next meeting we should write a ruby script to update all of the sites....or would we do it with a rails app?

Sweet. Have a script that checks an account that is subscribed to this list.  When it receives certain info it posts to the pages.  I personally prefer the email because it is in my face.  I would rather just make the site say "Join this google group to find out when meetings are happening."  Then links to projects of people involved in the group.
