Subject: [stlruby] Next St. Lous Ruby/Rails Meeting. This Monday Dec. 8th, 2008
To: stl...@googlegroups.com
The topic this month will be "CSS for modern browsers" by Bill Edney.
This presentation will cover CSS 2.1 as (mostly) implemented in the
following modern browsers:
- Firefox 3.X
- Safari 3.X
- IE7
A particular emphasis will be placed on CSS selectors - how selectors
really work and how CSS 2 selectors can be leveraged to reduce the
amount of JavaScript required in your web pages.
Additionally, new CSS 2 properties will be discussed and demonstrated.
Bill Edney has been writing computer software since 1982,
object-oriented programming since 1987 and Web programming since 1997.
He has made client-side Web technologies such as JavaScript & CSS his
speciality, although when he does have to do server-side coding, Rails
is his tool of choice.
Group usually heads over to Uno's around 7pm.
Meeting location:
1350 Timberlake Manor Pkwy
Chesterfield, MO 63017
Third floor - training room
