I've seen announcements about Recumbent Cycle-Con in "Recumbent and Tandem Rider" magazine, is anyone going? It's temptingly nearby (outside of Chicago; last year it was in California), but I really don't need to add to my stable right now!

I am probably going to go. I did reserve a hotel (Country Inn) in St. Charles for that weekend. Have not committed to the show yet. Say 80% probability I will attend. My stable is also full and I am not looking to buy, but it is fun to look and dream and the test rides are a blast. I attended the Hostel Shoppe Rally this past August and it was so much fun riding all the different trikes around the test course. This show looks to even have more models available than HS did at the rally. Also there will probably be a lot of neat accessories to check out. Of course will have the opportunity to converse with a lot of fellow benters.

Also the Fox River Trail runs ride through St. Charles, so opportunity for morning bike riding before the show. It's a really nice trail.

There is a lot of discussion on the BROL forum about Recumbent Cycle-Con.  http://www.bentrideronline.com/messageboard/showthread.php?t=103445

In a somewhat unrelated note, the Tour de Coal runs tomorrow in Benld with 13, 35, (I think 50), and 67 mile loops.  This is an awesome, low key rural ride that is perfect for recumbents.  I think folks can start as early as 7am, but it’s generally a go-when-you show kind of event.  I will be hitting the trail at 9am with my buddy (and ride founder) Jim Marcacci, doing the 35 mile option.  I will be riding my IceQ trike.  Jim, sadly, has not yet become enlightened and will be riding the course on a DF with some funny Italian name.  There is a small town fair in the Benld park afterward with local crafts, food, vendors, etc.  I’ve even seen bike displays!  The weather will be perfect.

Anybody else going…or do you just want to hear me gloat until your next opportunity in a year?

Look up Tour de Coal on Google or Facebook.

I talked to my wife about it. She isn't interested but she said I should go.  God bless her.
Hey, it just occurred to me that I might be able to ride the train!

The Tour de Coal sounds nice, tell us how it went!

Over Labor Day weekend, we met some family in Indianapolis and spent a few days biking on their impressive trail network.  Recommended!  Indianapolis bike map:
