Numb Buns,

I have forwarded the two messages on this subject I sent last week that you did not get because you did not join st...@googlegroups.com.  If everyone would join, directions and other messages could be sent to a single address.  Here is the link to join http://groups.google.com/group/stlh3.

Regarding this apparently controversial subject matter, my preferences are:

1.      All the area’s hash groups should appear on the tee shirt.  One way to do it would be to use the flow diagram (a type of family tree) shown in the attached Word file.  Among other reasons, this will encourage greater participation.

2.      The St. Louis H3 could organize the event but I think two of the three hashes should be in Illinois.  One reason is it would emphasize our Illinois origins.  Another reason is it would improve whatever bar arrangements are made and cut the expense of the event.

Once upon a time, St. Louis County had a decent bona-fide bar.  It was called the Creve Coeur Inn and there is a pre-civil war photo of the building when it was a stagecoach stop and Olive Street was a dirt road.  I drank lunch there most days at Monsanto causing significant weight gain.  A pond with ducks in back yielded later to an asphalt parking lot.  What did St. Louis County do?  It tore the building down to build a Blockbuster Video store and a Growler’s Pub.  This was not progress.

There was another bar in Creve Coeur that was also highly tolerable.  This bar was initially called “Stag on Draft” and cases of empty long-necker beer cases lined the walls.  It subsequently became Honey’s Hidden Hive, The Hive, and Bostic’s Loft (after the football player) before it finally self-destructed.  There was a third highly popular bar east in Olivette called Zankers specializing in Pabst Blue Ribbon.  Gone now forever.

Now, legitimate bars can only be found in Illinois.

On-On,

Buttsucker
