Interesting stats...

Physicians
Gun owners

Number of in the U.S
700,000
80,000,000

Accidental deaths caused by
120,000
1,500

Accidental deaths per
0.171
0.000188

Statistics courtesy of
   H.H.S.           (note 1)
   F.B.I.          (note 2)

Note 1: U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services
Note 2: Federal Bureau of Investigation
Note 3: statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners

The doctors would probably say that medicines kill people, not doctors...  Right?
I guess we should outlaw medicines.  ;-)

But you are able to 'pick n chose' your doctor. I am indifferent about
the so called great gun debate. I figure they will issue me one , if
I need one. I have friends who hunt and they eat or use everything
they hunt , including fur and feathers. (one makes his own arrows for
bow hunting, one use for the feathers and fishing lures for the
others) But the folks who are going to protect us from 'those
people'...crack me up.
Medicine is an art , with a hell of a lot of guess work, which
is why they must make their best judgment about your meds. Lots of it
is "Hit or Miss" and that's why your feed back is important. My
favorite line came from a nurse, who's husband was a doctor and she
said this woman ran up to her husband once and said..." I want to
thank you, my mother was at death's door and you pulled her
through." (think about it)
Slightly unrelated but you heard the recent story of the kid,
who deliberately put peanut butter crackers in the lunch box of a
kid ,who says he was allergic to peanuts. They want to charge this
kid for attempted manslaughter. I only mention this, because who knows
what med might throw you over the edge, that millions of us take.
Medicine is no exact science and if you get sent to a quack run as
fast as you can.

Where those just MDs or an aggrigate for all medical practitioners. DDSs
and other medical professionals have the occassional fatal accident.

An interesting bit of information would be to see the distibution of said
accidents. Gun accidents tend to about 1.n:1.n I suspect that the ratio
for MDs might be a bit different.
