Position: Director of National Marketing
Responsible for developing a national marketing department which is
responsible for the strategic development and implementation of all
national sales & marketing programs. In addition the department is
responsible for developing and executing all regional consumer and
business-to-business marketing programs for seven autonomous operating
companies.
Duties include hiring and training a staff of seven in addition to the
following:
1. Develop an annual national marketing plan to support core product lines as
well as design core product line extensions and develop new categories of
products within the companies core competencies.
2. Develop merchandising and point-of-sale strategies for all retail products.
3. Develop and maintain a corporate branding strategy.
4. Develop and maintain regional and national marketing budgets.
Accomplishments:
1. Developed an enhanced merchandising program for commodity treated lumber
and deck accessories. Early results have netted an increase from 35 to
248 stores (Chain wide representation) at a key retail customer.
2. Completed a line extension of vinyl lawn & garden products which are
currently running five to six time over plan with the new products
outselling core products 2:1
3. Developed a comprehensive corporate communication program that enables our
highly regionalized corporation to look and act like the Fortune 500
