YCC Meeting May 27

Hello everyone. Roy asked me to send out an email regarding the meeting
that was held tonight at Bar Louie. We discussed in further detail the
upcoming September meeting. The event will be Wednesday, September 17 at
6:00 pm. We are going to try to get a room at Washington University.
Currently there are six speakers who have agreed to participate. Each
speaker will have approximately ten minutes to talk about
themselves.(Francisco will send an email later with more details about
what the speakers should focus on.) After everyone is done, there will be
time for questions. We thought it would be best to have some finger foods
available at the beginning of the night, and then pizza or sandwiches
after the speakers are finished.
In addition, Lisa Balbes from the ACS St. Louis section is interested in
possibly participating in our event. Roy is going to invite her to our
next YCC meeting (scheduled for Tuesday, June 17th-time and place to be
decided later). This should help us determine how she will participate in
the event.
If anyone has any suggestions or comments, please let us know. Only four
people were able to make it to Bar Louie tonight. I completely understand
if people are not able to come to every meeting. If there is a more
appropriate time or place, please suggest it to Roy. It would be great if
more people were able to attend the meetings.

There will be a meeting today (June 17, 2008 at 6:30 pm) at the hearth
area of the Farrell Teaching and Learning Center, Washington University

Sorry but I won't be able to make the meeting tonight. Carolyn Herman is
swamped but will get her background info to me soon. Dayna and I talked about
booking a room (LabSci 300 or Rettnour Gallary, among others) but we still need
to know how many people to expect. Have a good meeting.
