Hello YCC!

We would like to join us and the ACS Local Section for the first of a series of talks titled Science Café.  The first talk will be held today, Wednesday, October 22 starting at 6 PM in the Crown Room at the Schlafly's Bottleworks.  The topic for this week is Science for Future Presidents.  The discussion will be led by Prof. Hal Harris, a physical chemist at the University of Missouri - Saint Louis, and will encompass some of the most critical challenges that the next president will face involving science, like energy policies, biotechnology, bioterrorism, global warming, and so forth.  If you would like to learn a little bit more about these issues, you should plan on attending this unique opportunity!

Schlafly's Bottleworks
7260 Southwest Avenue (at Manchester)
Maplewood, MO 63143.

Cash bar begins at 6 pm, Café meeting at 7 pm

Hope to see you there!

Why are advance notices not sent out for events? Getting the invite
the day of the event is not helpful for people like myself who like to
plan their lives.

Thanks,

I agree that it is best to send notices well in advance of upcoming events.  In this case, however, the plan to join a YCC gathering to a local ACS section event happened very soon before the event.  The event itself has been planned for some time by the local ACS section and was mentioned in both the Chemical Bond and the stlacs.org calendar.  In the future, I would also like to see events like this planned and announced well in advance of the event.
