Will probably need a new phone soon (just had to waste another half hour
deleting as much Google crap as possible to get back memory, only to see
updates for most of the Google stuff I disabled), .. anyone have a phone
recommendation given the following constraints:

* Nothing Google except Play Store and Maps (Gmail via phone client?);

* 5.5-6" screen (not monsters!)

* HTC has spoiled me over the years, prefer touch *buttons* (not Andriod
slide)

Appreciate any recomendations, ..

Thanks!

A guy on my team just came in with one of these on Monday.  It might fit your requirements. https://oneplus.net/3.

It has some cool screen-off gestures for controlling music playback, flashlight, and camera.

Pretty cool! Are you saying that "OxygenOS" allows you do dump all of the
Google crap?

Thanks!

Sounds that way.  But my experience is second hand.

FYI, .. did some research and OxygenOS is the Chinese flavor of Andriod 5,
.. including all Google components.
