I'd suggest using eventbrite.com, you can add custom registration questions, track invites, add widgets to other sites, etc.. I'd be happy to set it up tomorrow.

For example look at http://smcstl4.eventbrite.com

Let me know if I can do something like that

Is there a way to get EventBrite to not charge for tickets when the event is free?  I looked before when Alex recommended it but I couldn't find anything.

Oh, nevermind, I made the event in there and figured out it doesn't charge the customer for free tickets.  Thanks Brad and Alex for pointing out this service.

If you go to the section where you manage the event there is code you can paste to add RSVP widgets to other sites. If you push that out others can add it to their groups/blogs
