I was sick this week but saw the video of Thursday's meeting. This is
great!!

Anyway, the last day I was able to go to class we had the usual
problems in the Language Lab with kids forgetting their thumb drives,
etc. The video "inspired" me to take a look at Google Docs and I think
I can use it to solve that problem.

I made a test presentation and published it to the web. If you have a
chance to view it and give me some feedback I'll appreciate it.

Hey Delsie,

Good stuff. I just looked at the presentation and it looks great. One thing that might be helpful for you is that in the Google Documents settings you can change your default lanuage -- So, not only could the kids type easily in Spanish, the Google Documents menus would be in Spanish, which I am sure would be a good learning experience?

I am currently out of town, but will be getting back to STJ later tonight. Once I get back I'll be setting up the first wave of Academics Manager accounts and sending out an email to the group with steps on how you can start posting to STJLabs.com -- That's the next thing I would like a bunch of you to do.

In addition I will be setting you each up with your first choice non-Academics Manager of your choice. As far as I can tell that would be:

Delsie: Wiki
Jay: Open Source, Podcasting
Joanne: Wiki, Survey Tools
Hank: Podcasting
Sam: Doc Management
David: Open Source, Podcasting
Dennis: Wiki

Hows do those topics look as places for each of you to start? What I plan on doing is running small group tutorials on how to get started on each of those topics and then type up steps and record screencasts of what you could do. If you'd like to start by working on something else (in addition to Academics Manager), let me know.
