As I begin to explore Academics Manager, I'm finding that the one
feature that really feels like it is missing is RSS feeds of
everything. As far as I've been able to determine, the only RSS feed
on the entire website is the "Academy News" feed, which is hardly
useful for class information and assignments. Having feeds of class
assignments, sports schedules, and lists of uploaded files would allow
users to more efficiently view information pertinent to them (using a
feed reader like Google Reader), as well as use third party
applications that may already exist or could be written in the future.

Am I missing something? There doesn't seem to be a button for feeds
anywhere, and the feed icon on the end of the Firefox address bar
points to the "Academy News" no matter what part of the site you are
on. I would imagine that feeds are in some way built into the site,
since the Academy News works as expected, and has the standard feed
links on its site (http://www.stjacademy.org/page.cfm?p=238 on the
right side). Clicking that link allows you to subscribe to feed of
individual public news areas, like sports and alumni, instead of the
entire site like the Firefox link.

If it exists, I think that the ability to not only subscribe to your
class feeds, but also to individual sports and such would be a great
tool. Is this possible? Is it right under my nose?

Well, as it stands, and as you've found, you can subscribe to any of the news categories. Also, the "alerts" button allows you to set things up to be automatically emailed when new news items are added.

So I guess what you're asking is...

Is there a way to subscribe to a feed for a specific class? Or any other RSS feed options that can be turned on? (Or that you haven't found.)

My answer to that is... I'm not sure. Lemme poke around and see what I can find.

Oh, for those of you out there that may not know what an RSS feed is, check out this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=0klgLsSxGsU
