Dear Reenu and Juliya

Below is the email from Ancy regarding the soup kitchen :)

Hello Everyone!,

Thank you for being MGSOSA/MGSOYA Missions coordinators! It is really a blessing to have you all a part of the team and for putting our charity and mission events into action. For the summer, we are asking each of you to coordinate a soup kitchen charity event for your respected region or churches. We are asking you to coordinate this once between June-August. Here is a check list of what must be completed:

·         Find a soup kitchen for your event. If you need extra help finding a soup kitchen, please notify me at ancy.ska...@gmail.com, or call/text me at 847-989-6248. I would recommend finding an open date for your soup kitchen, then proposing these dates to your church.

·         Please check with your church (youth, members), Achens, and secretaries to find a date so we can all complete this event.

·         After receiving approval, please notify me of the date/time/location of your soup kitchen event, as well as who will be planning the event in the specific church or region (if it is not you). Please let me know by June 30, 2014.

·         I will be sending you a flyer that is pre made. All you have to do is put in your specific date/time/location for your event. This will be sent out in the next couple weeks. After filling out the flyer, please send this out to the church/churches involved in your event.

·         Lastly, but most importantly, do this with Christ in your heart!! We serve, not only because it’s a good thing to do, but because it is our obligation to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

How to find a soup kitchen

·         The easiest way is to just do a google search for your area, and there should be a list of soup kitchens. From there, contact the soup kitchen coordinator.

·         http://www.foodpantries.org/ may help you.

·         Ask people in your communities if they are aware of anything. Universities generally have some type of volunteer/service department so if there is a university in your area, you can contact them to see if they are aware of anything.

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon!!

In Christ,

Ancy Skaria
