Chaitanya will soon commence working on his upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film with filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. This was the first project he had signed after his separation from his ex-wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Last year, Chaitanya was seen in Telugu romantic drama Love Story, which went on to become one of the biggest hits of his career. The film, directed by Sekhar Kammula, also starred Sai Pallavi.
One major change is there is akind of conclusion abt the movie in the end part of the review but in ur later reviews, the conclusion about the movie is within the first 10-20 lines,if at all somebody is able to find it.
This is exactly why we need better stories. As much as fiction borrows from fact, it also feeds back into the real world. Which is why if we show women dealing with such situations with grace and maturity on screen, it can help to set new cultural expectations.

"Mera toofan aa raha hai, mera Devdas aa raha hai" (My storm is coming, my Devdas is coming), Kaushalya (Smita Jaykar), his mother, says to her friend and neighbour Sumitra (Kirron Kher). The 'storm' part may well have been cinematographer Binod Pradhan's brief when he filmed the opening scene of Bhansali's film. There is not a static frame, save for the establishing shot, tilted on a dutch angle that suggests the off-kilter reality of this world. Curtains fly, sheets are taken off, as the information of Devdas's travels within the mansion. The family sings together, with the spiteful Kumud striking its only discordant note.
Paro's no longer the neighbourhood beauty, but a thakurain deftly navigating the corridors of a zamindar household, practising politics when needed and still capable of kindness. In a battle of wits with a distant relative of the family, she demonstrates the kind of artfulness that recalls her mother's way with words, as well as the humiliation she had faced at the hands of Devdas's family in the past. (The scene plays out like an intimate chamber drama and showcases some sharp dialogue writing). In a story about a drunk loser who drank himself to death, it's a little win for her.
Paro is patiently waiting for Devdas with her heart overflowing with love, but her mind is filled with innumerable worries and misgivings. She finally surrenders to the depths of her emotion to guide her through the journey, inwards. We see her waiting eternally for her true love as she transforms into the embodiment of LOVE itself!
"It fills me with immense pride and amazing memories of the times when we made the film against all odds and took it to Cannes," Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali tells Subhash K Jha. "Devdas was selected in the non-competition section of the Cannes Film Festival. It was not easy making Devdas. I suffered a lot. When the film was invited to Cannes, it felt like my two-and-half years of penance has paid off.
"I am not saying critics shouldn't have criticised my film. But they should have judged the film within the genre and format that I had chosen. Bimal Roy's Devdas wasn't the only way of filming the Sarat Chandra story. My way is also a way. Another director can make the same story in another way."
"I don't know how I did it. It just happened. A lot of people compare the film to the novel. According to me, very few people have the right to read the novel. You can't read Devdas with pre-conceptions and expectations. Each time I read Devdas, I find a different mood in it."
Amongst the many things, Bhansali is celebrated for magnificent sets which are a visual delight for viewers. The grand set of 'Devdas' with its lavish Havelis and bungalows, the spectacular chandeliers, the gorgeous outfits, and the splendid locations, the film is one of the grandest movies ever.
It all goes without saying that when the three biggest stars of Bollywood are in one film, it has to be a blockbuster. With Shah Rukh Khan as Devdas, Aishwarya as Paro, and Madhuri as Chandramukhi, the trio gave a flawless performance which tugged at the heartstrings of audiences. Apart from the lead actors, Kirron Kher, Jackie Shroff, Smita Jaykar, and Jaya Bhattacharya all did a commendable job in the movie.
Another fact which resonated with the audiences was the amazing list of songs and dance numbers which were full on fleek. From 'Dola Re Dola', 'Maar Dala', and 'Silsila Yeh Pyaar Ka', the soulful and traditional lyrics and vocals were quite impactful while Aishwarya and Madhuri's graceful dance moves set the screens on fire.

Dilip Kumar, the legendary actor who was once the heartthrob of millions passed away on 7 July. Known for his moving performances, the 98-year-old actor was popular as the Tragedy King of Bollywood. From portraying the role of the Mughal Prince Salim who fought his father for his love to that of a villager who stood up for tongawallas, Kumar played several serious roles with brilliance.
Kumar brought the character of Devdas to life with his appealing performance in the Bimal Roy directorial. Known as the only method actor of Bollywood, his portrayal of Devdas continues to be appreciated and admired and is touted to be the best of all screen depictions of this character. Years later, Shah Rukh Khan would also play the same role in an adaptation of the film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The 1955 film featured Kumar opposite Suchitra Sen in the role of Devdas' beloved Paro. Regarded as one of the most beautiful heroines of all time, Vyjayanthimala played the role of Chandramukhi, a courtesan who falls in love with Devdas.
His measured portrayal of a melodramatic character is still admired. In 2004, Bhansali created Devdas with Khan in the lead and Aishwarya Rai in the role of Paro. Chandramukhi was played by Madhuri Dixit. While the actor brought his own element to the role, it is Kumar who set the gold standard for playing tragic roles.

Devdas could have been a tough assignmentfor any music director. However Ismail Darbar has really put a lot of effortinto his work, and it shows. Credit must also be given to the singers, who justbring out the best of themselves. Rarely have we an album where ALL the songsare perfectly sung, Devdas is such an album. Bhansali deserves a pat on the backfor taking the risk of bringing in two newcomers (Badr and Ghosal) on such ahuge project. All in all, Devdas is without a doubt, a MUST buy.
