I recently purchased a new computer. And i've been trying to get all my software onto the new computer. when the time came to install Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 I was informed that the website for activation of the product was down. After talking about the issue with an adobe chat agent I was informed that all the CS2 software was in the same boat, and that a dedicated web page provided versions of the software which did not require activation. (exclusively for people who owned the older software of course.) The site is here:

If anyone knows how I can get my software up and running I would appreciate it. You could save me from having to go and buy the new Adobe Premiere which would cost me a tremendous amount of money. Thank you for you consideration.

Just so you know. I also owned Adobe Photoshop CS2. And the site worked for getting that software working. I get the annoying register you product message (when it loads) but other than that it appears to be working. I have no idea how to get the Adobe Premiere 2.0 to work. ("There is no Adobe Premiere 1.5 download on the site.)

I have to unzip the file? I didn't notice the icon, but yes I see it now, you could be right. The install wizard might not be working because it was operating inside a compressed folder. Will the "Extract All" option work? I didn't recieve any error message when I opened the file and looked in the folder. Should I create a new folder to put all the program elements into once they are extracted?

Yes I am on Windows 7. I right clicked and I opened the properties window. On the compatibility tab window I selected for the program to run in compatibility with windows XP service pack 3 and I tested service pack 2 also. The program still only flickers on and imediately shuts off. The program dosen't properly launch when I double click the icon. I dont know what to do.

I read your suggestion. I was afraid you might say something like that. I have a very expensive workstation computer. I can't risk messing with the drivers when they are all functioning properly. Its the Adobe Premiere that isn't functioning correctly. After talking with you, it has become readily clear that It might be worth it for me to invest in the new software. The older programs sometimes aren't functional in new hardware. I am quite sure that if there was a way to make it work, it would have been more readily apparent. based off everything I know now, I'd rather wait a little and get exactly what I need, than to rely on outdated and non-functional software.

Thanks for helping me. Almost saved a bundle of money. I know more about installing programs though. I should have known to un-zip/extract those files before I tried to install the program. So all is not lost. I learned a thing or two.

i know whats going oni too experienced this issue. its a glitch that can happen from time to time because of a goof up in the installation. all you need to do is un install and reninstall but when choosing the button to click to install click setup not adobe primere 2.0 installation and you should get it to install just fine

Students: Place an order for Adobe CC via the Software Distribution site. Faculty and staff: Click the link below to submit a request for access to Adobe CC. Note: if you already have been issued a Creative Cloud license and want to install it on a new or second computer, please follow the re-installation instructions.

The Adobe CC software is available to the UNC-Chapel Hill community through an Adobe Enterprise subscription model. To begin the installation process, you need to uninstall all old Adobe products from your computer. To uninstall the Adobe software, visit the adobe.com article: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems.

If you need further assistance removing Adobe CC, please contact the ITS Service Desk using one of the contact methods listed below. If you do not have any Adobe CC products, you may skip the uninstall process and continue with a clean installation. All users logging into, Adobe Creative Cloud will need to use Duo for 2-step verification.

UNC-Chapel Hill students, faculty and staff have several avenues in which to receive training on Adobe products and services. Adobe has many great online tutorials for the various Creative Cloud products. The University also offers free access to LinkedIn Learning, an online training platform that has many specific Creative Cloud product lessons. Finally, the iTunes App Store provides mobile tutorial apps for the creative mind on the go.

A limited number of no-cost Adobe Creative Cloud licenses are available for instructional faculty and instructional staff. Requests will be approved for individuals whose work for the University includes one of the following activities:

Microsoft has been trying to do an automatic upgrade of my Windows 10 for 2 weeks. So my computer made an unsuccessful attempt over 10 times a day for 2 weeks. Two calls to Microsoft support for a total of 5 hours, and several days of attempts on my own. I finally did figure out how to do it myself, but because I also then needed to do a clean install, now I need to reinstall all my programs. Oh JOY of JOYS!!!

My most important one is Adobe Premiere CS5. After installing the latest Windows 10, version 1709, I put my installation disk in and let it go. It did fine, up until it reached 99% installed. I could see it was then having problems because that last % was taking much longer. Finally my screen froze and I got a blue screen computer crash.

When I attempted to do the install again, it attempted to do the install, but stopped after a couple of minutes and then a window showed up which said the following. "Installer failed to Initialize. This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." I've since learned there is no Adobe Support Advisor to download. One online suggestion was to go to Program files x86 - Common files - Adobe - OOBE. Then to change the name of the OOBE folder to OOBE.old. It didn't work.

I'm considering doing another clean install to totally remove anything which may have gotten corrupted during these last two attempts. But this time, instead of using the disk to install PP CS5.5, I'm wondering if copying the entire disk to my hard drive, and then doing the install from there would be a solution?

I'm feeling pretty lost without my best virtual buddy, Premiere Pro CS5.5, and would very much appreciate any suggestions. Willing to cross all fingers, toes, and eyes if you think that would help. Would love to go with Premiere Pro CC, but for right now it's out of my price range.

The above may or may not work... owners of old programs simply have problems with Windows 10... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Microsoft changed their operating system and THAT is why your old program won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Microsoft issues a Win10 update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working after the initial Win10 upgrade will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

Hi my name is Felix ! I have a aspir e 15 Acer and I downloaded adobe premier pro on it !! I tried to use it but when I uploaded a 4 k video on it the video was really colorful like tie die ! I don't know what to do I really want to use adobe premier real bad can someone help me please

I felt it was necessary to give an update. Eight weeks ago I began to have computer problems which I linked with the time when Microsoft was attempting to make an automatic upgrade of my Windows 10 software, to the Fall creators update.

During the past eight weeks I worked with Microsoft solve my computer problems. Basically my computer would crash and restart every time the attempt to install the Windows 10 update, and ultimately fail. Therefore my computer would crash approximately 10 times a day while I was working on it. My primary work on it is editing video using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5. The crashes accelerated over time, and I was elevated from Level 1 support at Microsoft, through Level 2 and for the past 3 weeks I've been working with the nice people at Level 3. Many many hours were spent with them troubleshooting. I estimate close to 25 hours over the eight week period.

To shorten the story, the problems were finally solved and had very little to do with the Windows 10 Fall Upgrade. We found out one of my three internal hard drives was failing, and of the four 8gb RAM sticks in my machine, only two of them were functioning. I also had 19 software drivers which were either old, or ancient, and those were all updated. I now have three new hard drives, all 32gb of new RAM, and when I reinstalled all of my programs, I was able to install Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 with no problems at all and it now works perfectly. Since it is older software, I have switched over to a new Video editing software called Cyberlink Power Director Suite 6, and I enjoy it much more than CS5.5. If Adobe still offered the software for sale, I'd stay with it, but I'm not willing to pay that much per month for something I can buy with no monthly fees. The one I use now does way more than my trusty old Premiere Pro CS5.5.

My theory here was I was going to use the SSD for Windows and my core, everyday applications: web browser, anti-virus, etc. The HDD would however house Premiere, as well as all media content (raw, render/temp files, projects, etc.) The reasoning is I thought (and have had this thought reinforced by a friend) that having the media on the same drive as the program is quicker, since there's less cross talk between drives as Premiere tries to communicate with the media.

What do people think about this? Is it worth keeping Premiere with the media, would it be faster if the program was on the SSD, or would it not really matter either way? I know, ideally I would have 2 SSDs but you know how it is haha.
