I'm a long time Ubuntu user and have been looking at archlinux - but one of the programs that I use (purchased) is securecrt. Vandyke does a great job of supporting Ubuntu - and a few others - but archlinux is not one of them. I have not done a lot of research on this but wanted to know if I have a DEB or tar of the program is there anyway to (try) install it on archlinux? And before someone responds back what wrong with XYZ alternative to SSH from the command line? And the answer is that securecrt allows you to create "button" bars where you can define all kinds of commands for all kind of difference technology. That feature alone was worth the $100 I paid for the software and putty or terminal SSH is a very poor substitute . I used securecrt for years at my last company - and love the software. The vendor is just great to work with and constantly improving their app. I'm just looking for breadcrumbs on how to even try this.

Disclaimer...so many changes from one version of Windows Control Panel to the next, you mileage may vary. Believe you can step around the Control Panel settings if you're only using Firefox. That would be a change within Firefox only.

Ok I got the script to work so that when I push my SSH button in top in SW it now opens a new windows of my securecrt and not just a a new tab in my running securecrt, is there anyway that I can get this fixed or??

A new Credentials Manager provides a single location to set up session credentials and change passwords for multiple sessions; SecureCRT's Active Session Manager makes it easy to view the status of open sessions; SecureFX's sudo command provides more flexibility when using SCP connections.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., April 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- VanDyke Software, a developer of multi-platform secure terminal emulation and secure file transfer software, today announced the official releases of SecureCRT 9.2 and SecureFX 9.2.

Credentials Manager Simplifies Password Management Across Multiple Sessions"Many of our customers manage passwords for large numbers of sessions, which can be time-consuming and inefficient if done manually," said Maureen Jett, Product Director."The Credentials Manager allows multiple sessions to share authentication credentials. Now you can change a password in a single location, and no longer need to manually locate and update the individual sessions. This is especially helpful when an organization requires new passwords monthly, weekly, or even daily."

SecureCRT Active Sessions Manager Allows Easy Viewing of Open SessionsWorking with a large number of connections is easier with the dockable Active Sessions Manager (now available on Mac and Linux platforms in addition to Windows). Using the Active Sessions Manager, customers can see the status of all open sessions and quickly locate specific sessions as well as local shells, scratchpads, and open script files.

Import Connections from Text FilesA text file import wizard streamlines the process of importing sessions from CSV, TSV, or other delimited text files. Previously, sessions had to be imported manually or with a script.

SSH2 Enhancement and Updated FIPS ModuleSecureCRT and SecureFX reduce SSH2 connection failures by allowing the application to retry a connection using a supported algorithm if the Cipher or MAC algorithm negotiation fails. On Windows, SecureCRT and SecureFX include an updated module for Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 compliance.

SecureCRT 9.2 and SecureFX 9.2 Include Technical Support During EvaluationFully-functional evaluation copies of SecureCRT and SecureFX can be downloaded from the VanDyke Software website at www.vandyke.com. Evaluators have full access to VanDyke Software's expert technical support to assist with installation, configuration, and testing during the 30-day evaluation period.

Our organization uses SecureCRT as an SSH client. We are moving SSH access to target devices to PAM, but would like to continue using the SSH client that our users are familiar with. Can we configure a TCP/UDP service such that it launches SecureCRT on the user's desktop and provides auto-logon with a target account specified in the access policy?

Note that it is NOT necessary to use the /PASSWORD command line option. The SSH Proxy service running on the PAM server knows when to inject the password of the target account configured for autologon. We recommend not to use this parameter, because it would expose the target account password to the PAM user.

The path to the securecrt.exe binary provided above, "C:\Program Files\VanDyke Software\SecureCRT\securecrt.exe ", is right for a 64-bit SecureCRT client installation for all users. Adjust the path as needed. Individual PAM users can customize the path by clicking on the "Set or change local application" link in the popup that shows for a few seconds on the PAM client after launching the service. Note that they will have to enter the full client application string with all arguments, not just the path to the executable. This local (user-specific) configuration will not be overwritten when a PAM admin updates the TCP/UDP service.
