DevXS Conference/Competition 11. - 13. Nov

Hi Everyone,

I have been made aware of a very interesting conference next month
that might be a nice opportunity for some of us.

The DevXS Conference in Lincoln will be held between 11. and 13. Nov
and will include a competition of the best application contributing to
student life.

As it appears at this time the range of potential applications is
fairly unrestricted as is the choice of language it will be
implemented in. Amazon is providing a AWS server to host the
applications during the conference so I guess it should be web based
though not that does not mean a website ;).

If there is genuine interest the department might be able to help with
travel expenses. The accomodation in Lincoln as well as food and drink
is catered for by the hosting University so there should not be an
issue.

Please let me know if you are interested as soon as possible as we
need to register soon.

PS: Please note that registration for the event is binding and will
incur a £150 fee if a registered individual fails to show up.

Don't know that I'd be much use at coding but what about trying to
develop a app based version of m.stir.ac.uk?

I never used it before to be honest but potentially a SU app for major
smartphone os is something to consider. Though I think for the
competition we should look for something that is unlikely to have been
done already. a bit like facebook if u like ;)
