Producer Leonard Goldberg had the initial idea, three years previously, for a show that would be a cross between The Avengers and Honey West, a short-lived drama from the 1960s about a female private investigator.[4] Goff and Roberts had first titled the series The Alley Cats in which the three females (named Allison, Lee, and Catherine) would reside in alleys and wear whips and chains. Gavin MacLeod, Bernie Kopell, Fred Grandy, Ted Lange, and Lauren Tewes guest starred as their The Love Boat characters. Spectre bid farewell to Aoi Zaizen, a girl that failed to become a Blue Angel, whose wings shattered at her defeat.

Blue Angel exclaimed this was a secret mission and could not wear her regular outfit, so Ghost Girl, noting her maturity, dubbed her as Blue Girl. She also asked about Blood Shepherd, whom Ghost Girl described as a troublesome man that would not let go of his target. Blue Girl noted Ghost Girl knew Blood Shepherd, and was told even Akira knew him three years ago from a mission. Blue Girl noticed Ghost Girl remained silent for a moment, who simply replied that Blood Shepherd would do anything to win, and if Playmaker would to lose, his Ignis would be taken to SOL Technologies.
