I was using Vault Workgroup 2020, but the company I contract too have decided for some reason to downgrade from workgroup 2020 to Vault Basic 2021, I don't know why, probably money, anyway, my problem....

I received an Error message stating that "Another Database was found", after checking the Autodesk site, I followed the instructions to remove, I could not remove/delete using the ADMS as this was removed during the uninstall of Workgroup. After this I re-ran the Installation.

However, you should be able to create a new Vault Basic environment. The error you have attached means that the "sa" password is not matching what the installer is expecting. Prior to uninstall Vault Workgroup. Did you remove the KVM / Vaults / Content Center libraries? Also, do you have the "sa" password that you used for the Vault Workgroup environment? I am going to assume you did remove the KVM / Vaults / Content Center libraries else you will not be able to proceed. During the install process for Vault Basic there is an options dialog that allows you to type in the "sa" password. Make sure you put your password in that dialog. Else, it will assume the default "sa" password which appears to be happening.

My question has nothing to do with the topic it-selves, but I would be very interested what the reason is of the downgrade, because of all the benefits Vault Workgroup has. Or is there a reason that Vault Workgroup or Professional is not a benefit anymore for that company.

Vault basic has for them more benefits than "Vault WG or Pro" can give them, in their opinion, this is often seen after the implementation of "Vault WG or Pro", but than it is too late to downgrade anymore.

Vault Basic is included with the Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection only; it is not available for purchase separately. It organizes data creation and documentation and provides design file management.

Vault Office is a separate product, which provides basic vaulting capabilities for non-CAD users. It enables single document check-in and check-out by way of the Vault web client and the add-in. All office data can be managed, including Word documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

Vault Office enables the user to organize files and keep them in one location for easy access. All file versions are retained, along with file properties and any dependencies, ensuring past versions are protected from being lost. Thus, a living history of the project is preserved, allowing quick searches and retrieval.

Manage your design files, automate data creation and organize documentation with Vault Basic, part of the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection. Automate design tasks of your teams, enforce standards and manage revisions with Vault Workgroup. Connect dispersed teams with multisite enterprise collaboration and gain valuable insights using Vault Professional.

So to solve this problem I would like to write a program that gives me a list of connected users. So far I found some code to show me all users from the vault workgroup, but that information is useless because I know all user accounts. I just need the currently connected users.

If you access port 80 it is not https, it should be http, and it should not be necessary to add the port. Just All this assuming that the OMV host is "openmediavault" and that your client is capable of recognizing domain names. Windows usually crashes randomly on this. The IP address never fails.

You must have a dns or you couldn't get to the internet. It may be your router. If so you may be able to set a static ip reservation for the pi on that. It depends on your router how to do it. Then you probably can use the name to connect to omv.

The same thing happens to me. I have a Raspberry Pi 4 with a clean installation of Openmediavault 7 on a 128Gb SSD. By changing the IP to static or setting the domain to local, when it restarts you can no longer access the Raspberry in any way. It is not visible on the network even if I turn it off and on again. I do not know what is the problem.

It is best to set your Router with reserve IP's, I reserve the first 192.x.x.1 - 192.x.x.10 for static machines, 192.x.x.1 being my gateway, and the next 3 are Satellites, up to 10 are my NAS's, server, smarthome hub, printer. And set static IP's on them so they never change.

I have the same problem. Trying to change the Pi to a fixed IP address within OMV fails and bricks the ethernet interface. I even tried setting up wlan0 interface as a backup and found that even trying to activate wifi causes an error in OMV and won't allow the interface to be added or the config changes to be saved. This never used to happen in the older version I had setup on a Pi3. I tried nano /etc/network/interfaces but OMV is superseding that. I can login to console evetually after it times out on a reboot but I am not sure how to fix this.

i am having the same problem. all i did was to write "local" in the domain name. it was not possible to access the system again. (it does not get ip from dhcp) i am using raspberry pi 4 and openmedivault 7.1.0. i don't know what is on the screen because the system is headless. but i can open the sd card in another linux system. how can i revert the change i made in this case? i am running many containers on docker and i spent a lot of effort for them. thanks.

Moving Workgroup PDM Vault to a new computer is relatively simple. All vault settings, users, groups and the actual SolidWorks files are contained within the VaultData folder, so only that folder will need to be transferred to the new server.

Step 6: Ensure that the Vault Data location in the installation manager matches the location where the vault root folder was copied to. If necessary change the location in the installation manager to match the actual location.

SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM is a non-database managed product data management system. It creates a pseudo-database setup through the use of nested folder structures. This nested folder structure also stores all the administrative level user settings (user permissions, global vault settings, etc.) within the Vault Data folder itself. In this way, the vault is a self-contained ecosystem capable of being moved with all its settings to a new location by copying a single folder.

At the conclusion of this process, the vault should now be functioning under a newly installed service on a new machine. When it comes time for a client (or the VaultAdmin tool itself) to log into the new vault all that needs to be changed is the computer it is pointed to at the login screen (shown below).

At the conclusion of this process, the vault should now be functioning under the same service as before in a new location on the same machine. This change will not affect how the client machines or the VaultAdmin tool access the vault as both only point to the machine the vault is on and are not concerned with its exact location.

Ryan has been in the GoEngineer technical support team since February 2008 where he most notably provides support for all FEA and CFD software offered by SolidWorks. His most recent accolade is the title of Elite Application Engineer awarded by SolidWorks Corp.

While SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM stores all documents in a central vault that can only be accessed through the WPDM add-in, it does create local copies of these files whenever they are checked out, placing them in a regular Windows Explorer folder.

Autodesk Vault is a data management tool integrated with Autodesk Inventor Series, Autodesk Inventor Professional, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D products. It helps design teams track work in progress and maintain version control in multi-user environments. It allows them to organize and reuse designs by consolidating product information and reducing the need to re-create designs from scratch. Users can store and search both CAD data (such as Autodesk Inventor, DWG, and DWF files) and non-CAD documents (such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel files).

The Vault environment functions as a client server application with the central SQL database and Autodesk Data Management Server (ADMS) applications installed on a Windows-based server with client access granted via various clients such as: Thick Client (Vault Explorer) and Application Integrations. ADMS acts as the middleware that handles client transactions with the SQL database. Vault Explorer functions as the client application and is intended to run alongside the companion CAD software. The Vault Explorer UI (User Interface) is intended to have an appearance similar to Microsoft Outlook and can display the Vault folder structure, file metadata in the form of a grid and a preview pane for more detailed information.
